If they divorce she has a right to expect alimony payments that allow her to keep her standard of living for about the same time as the marriage lasted, minor children can extend this period if she is the primary caregiver and she would be entitled to child support as well.

Of course there are legal ramifications around this, but Nick's previous income would be the foundation for the assessment, and payouts by a trustfund would likely be considered. If the trustfund itself could be legally required to pay her and/or the children is an entirely different matter, but she could pretty much garnish any and all payouts from said trustfund to Nick, and if the payouts were to be suddenly reduced for no discernible reason, I do not think that would go over well with a judge either.

The "standard of living" included a nanny to help with the household, so realistically I do not think Kayla would have to deal with everything on her own.
