The wind seems to be dying down. Atleast in some areas. But sometimes it can get windy for weeks at a time during the winter. So who knows.

If the wind dies down then it will be easier to contain the fire.

Weather forecast is predicting gusty winds through Friday, and again next week.

I feel connected to this fire in LA. I have an uncontrollable fire burning through my guts and ass atm (Norovirus), I have tried dousing it with water and jello and Alka Seltzer, and it has done nothing. So I’ve heard that firefighters and rigs are coming in from out of state, but is that actually going to do any good? Seems that the problem is a lack of water. I’m not sure what good more hands and trucks will be, unless they finally decide to cut losses and dig a fat fuckin ditch through LA with bulldozers. Is there an angle or a plan I’m not seeing here? Any Kiwis have any insight?

Realistically no amount of water is good enough to contain this, the best way at this moment imo would be to accept everything up to the Santa Monica Pier as a total loss and backburn ALL vegetation and bulldoze all structures up to the pier.

New construction goes up like a Roman candle compared to legacy construction. The stuff we have in our homes is also much more flammable than old school natural materials.
