Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

Did you know that stupid environmental activists are actually one of the leading reason the US has such a problem with invasive species? They're responsible for shit like the Green Crab epidemic, Lionfish epidemic, the ongoing problems with bamboo in New York, Eucalyptus in California, and more. It's specifically the stupid ones, the ones who have a child's understanding of the natural world, who think nature good, kill thing bad, free thing good, even if freed thing fucking ecologically devastates an entire region.

Anyone familiar with invasive species knows that any one of these is like a fucking micro-apocalypse for everything in that ecology, but some of the greatest evils in humanity's history have gone hand-in-hand with good intentions and nothing shows it quite like parts of the environmental movement. I can't for the life of me find them, but I remember one shithead journalist going on about how cool and awesome Lanternflies are, or how the Carp are our friends, and finding myself very disgusted with us a species.

I don't know how true this is, but apparently there are multiple cases of people starting fires all over the state.

Despite the insistence that this happened at 302 Pico, cursory investigation yields that it is happening at 292, which is across and down the street.

Looks like some people are taking full advantage of the situation to do shit like this.

Good morning Sars.

Fire is still 0% contained. Please send 100 dollar visa gift cards to LAFD for doing the needful.
$100 won't do shit when their budget was cut by nearly $18 million.

You can't convince me this fire wasn't man made: burn everything and rebuild it into a 15 minute city. Gavin Newscum's slice of democrat heaven since he can kiss his ass goodbye to ever becoming president after this, californians will keep voting him because they're retarded.

What do you think voters should vote for, the quantity of gay flags on local school? Politics _is_ about matters of life and death, if the voters are retarded, less of them is good.
It's less of a voter problem and more of a lack of consequences for fucking things up. Who ever gets fired when they mishandle this shit? The only consequence that mayor will ever face is "Well, shucks, I guess I should resign...", after getting rich from doing a poor job in a good position.

They don't hold people accountable, ever, I mean, they technically *can*, but likely won't.
What’s the scale of the eucalyptus issue? Could there be a program over say five years of uprooting them and destroying regrowth behind? Can goats be used to clear brush, even if it’s just in firebreaks?
The environmentalists are the problem. They won't let you uproot trees that are close to power lines even, they won't let you use herbicides that could effectively get rid of them either.

I'm sure they could, they have the money and the machinery to pull it off. They just can't because some retard will always show with an environment impact "study" and shut down the whole thing. You don't even need to uproot them to control them.

I can't expect anyone to read all 137 pages of this thread, but I have been compiling some highlights. Excuse the bad cropping and the empty space, I fill it as I go along.

California has term limits for governor and he's maxed out his term limits.

It's either the Presidency or bust, especially since the House and Senate aren't an option for him.

well my first thing in office wouldn't be cutting the budget by 2% to make sure a bunch of shit flinging homeless niggers had 3 meals and a cot.

what's up with the uptick in moralfaggotry on the farms
I don't think wishing peoples death and destruction of their property is a very good indicator of personality, or state of mind. But that's just an opinion of course not supported by any scientific research whatsoever. I heard somewhere upon the news of death and destruction a common reaction was to feel sorry for the victims rather than glee because they perceived the victims to have a point of view different to them (not that I am aware any KF actually knows a single victim or what they think).

I'm unsure that budgets actually prevent low humidity and whether or not it rains, but I could be wrong on that too. Perhaps budgets could prevent it raining on the coast and stop hurricanes also, I'll have to look into that deeper.

Imagine feeling glee as a neighbor loses their home, pets and possibly their life and livelihood because he didn't think like you. What a lovely neighbor you must be! It makes understanding why we saw some groups dancing with joy as people leapt to their death from the towers - not because they knew them, just because they were certain they mustn't think like them (without even knowing them) , and therefore, death was totally OK.

Stare into the Abyss long enough and it stares back. Once you start taking joy in others suffering, it is your impulses controlling you and sending you chemicals to feel satisfaction in your depravation. It is only a next step that you'll start lighting the fires yourself to get your kick, after all they aren't really people of value, right?

WHO THE FUCK STILL USES WATER TOWERS?
Anyone who likes water pressure. Especially in a state with a long history of mandatory power outages.

Why are US houses mostly made out of wood?
Wouldn't the envirocommies appreciate masonry more?
You haven't seen how much they whine about concrete and mortar creating CO2? The only type of housing they remotely support are those ugly ass "Earthships" made out of tires and bottles filled with dirt.

Though ironically, Earthships would actually be pretty much earthquake and fire proof, but there's zero chance the commies will actually build them to live in instead of their mansions. Those ugly trash and dirt monstrosities are for poor people, after all.

No matter how much you Ghouls want it, Los Angeles nor California is going to be leveled to the ground by fire. Sorry to disappoint you. We know that if you were in charge, that there would never be any fires, and if there were any fires, why they'd be out in just a few minutes.

So cope, your dreams of California burning to the ground will remain science fiction.
It’s not about the city, it’s about sending a message

When I first saw the thread I was like...

Haha LA is on fire.

That was 2 days ago. Now I regret.

A few years ago there was a trail I hiked daily. I watched some dudes perform a controlled burn on all the dried out brush and grass in the meadows. The following day was a Saturday and a few old people stopped me and asked what the fuck happened. I said what it was: Controlled burn to reduce chances of wildfires as a conservation effort. I don't think they heard a word I said since they replied, "It's disappointing."

Not even a week later, the plants started growing back. And after a month passed, aside from the ash on the tree trunks, you wouldn't have even known anything happened. But I was going out there daily unlike people who for some reason expect nature to be like a fucking Thomas Kinkade painting at their fair weather convenience.

Of course, I sit here thinking things like routine controlled burns would stop wildfires in CO, CA, Australia, etc. but it's probably not that simple. Still... there are a surprising amount of people who don't know that fire is a typical, expected occurrence in nature's life cycles, yet they profess having the stance of an environmentalist.

But, you know... Grrr, arrrgh. Fire bad.

Dead giveaway that this is fake is the dude calmly saying “we don’t have enough water to put this out” — whooookay, could your fabrication be anymore be any more obvious, you’ve got an ocean right next to you. Also: Why isn’t he trying to get these people’s faces on camera to incriminate them, if what they’re doing is illegal? Looks to me like it’s just some dudes anxiously running around a fire while this dude calmly films from a car? Like, be so fucking for real.

Show me a video of someone actually starting a fire & I’ll believe it. Why wasn’t this dude filming that? Dumb.

At the very least, I can see Trump holding relief funding hostage unless Newsom's resigns and California immediately kills the environmental laws that caused the fire to happen, combined with FEMA being forced to retroactively provide 1:1 funds to everyone FEMA fucked over during Helene as compensation for how Biden punished them for the sin of being in red states.
that would only work if A. Trump wasn't a blatant pushover once he gets in office B. Biden won't be giving a trillion to help California before trump gets the opportunity to block it all. plus on the off chance this fire continues in 11 days, we have bigger fish to fry than politics.
