Not the worst message. If a classic example of pointless virtue signaling. If anybody wants to that the Firefighters that are probably operating on 30 hours without sleep at this point. Ger a couple of cases of bottled water. And just start handing every firefighter you see a bottle. If you find and unlooted 7-11 get a few cases of sports drinks and hand those out.

I just checked up with Mama and Poppa Archeops about the AlertLA warning I just got on my phone, they didn’t get it.

Also, I’m hearing that the looting and the burnings may be related. The arsonists might be tied to the cartel or Chilean crime syndicates.

So naturally, I went to the website linked to the warning only to find the website down. When it came back up again after 15 minutes, it wouldn't show me where the fires were because it thought that I lived somewhere in the middle of the Pacific Ocean (yes, I gave it the necessary permissions to detect my true location). There are old angelfire sites from the 1990s that still function better.

This is third world stuff. Any you know what? Wait until those folks burned out of their beachfront homes try to apply for permits to rebuild. The Coastal Commission is gonna tell them to get stuffed. I've long argued that California, once a proudly red state, would eventually turn red again. People laugh at me for this, but the 2024 elections showed half the state turning red, and nothing makes a man feel red more than having a bunch of lesbians on the Coastal Commission tell him that he is SOL in rebuilding his beachfront home. This fire may be just enough to at least turn the city red again. What's left of the city, I mean.

Pretty sure if you have multiple homes in different cities around the world then having one of them burn doesn't make you homeless, just mild inconvenience having to live at the winter retreat in summer.

The thing about PP (and arguably a lot of municipalities west of the 100th meridian in general TBH) is how sprawling and suburban the whole place is.

In fact - and correct me if I'm wrong - I'm pretty sure that's how the whole concept of suburbs even came to be in the first place in the US. Like, during the 1950s and 60s when everyone was worried about the Soviets launching missiles at major US cities. Well if you have everyone (well, everyone pasty and well-off enough to make the jump) live in the suburbs and simply commute to work in the city, boom, there we go, less density.

And there are really rich ones and really poor ones I guess. It's just that this is getting much more attention and sympathy than, say, Lahaina, Western NC, or any of the previous disasters, because it's rich and filled with celebs.
