Im no monster hunter pro gamer, only played World and its dlc, but i get the feeling hes gonna get filtered by the game. Although you can solo monster hunter to an extent, eventually he will have to join up with others and you know how much he loves playing with others and he aint in control. Theres probable gold dust in that playthrough.

What class do you guys think he will play in MH:W?

im guessing MH is on the list so he can shit all over it and make stupid faces in the camera when he gets filtered in the tutorial.

Then he gets to harp on about how stupid MH has always been and how right he always is to shit on it, etc.

they actually started out making the game with a male japanese protagonist but decided later on in development to change him to george floyd for those sweet diversity points
The whole situation about this game is insane, one of the people who they got to make sure the game is "historically authentic" was Thomas Lockley, the premier historian on Yasuke. Due to the outrage he went on running interference on the game HARD... only for Japanese historians to go "wait a minute", checked his work and realized that he quite literally made up 95% of his history from whole cloth. He ended up losing his job at Nihon University because of this. They even figured out that this guy started making up history about Japan being a major player in the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. Yes, really. The English Wikipedia article on Yasuke is now locked and still claims that he was a samurai despite the only sources on it being fake history, while the Japanese article reflects historical record (we barely even know anything about Yasuke besides that he was brought by the Portuguese and Nobunaga had him carry his shortsword around).

How come nobody (jap audience included) took any issue with Team Ninja making their protagonist in Nioh - a game about kamikaze, sushi eating, karaoke bastards with authentic japanese swords - a white Irishman?

This shit was played out 5 years ago and what's left of it today feels like little more than a red rag grift by men who are definitely on the rag like big brain burnell over here.. even if he is a decade late and a dollar short as usual.

Nobody gave a shit about a black protagonist in AC Liberation or Freedom Cry a decade ago. Ok maybe that's because nobody gave a shit about those games lol all I'm saying is this "outrage" is counterfeit. People are tired of the trends western studios keep insisting on but holy fuck if there aren't plenty of better reasons to shit on modern Assassin's Creed beyond it having one whole stationary in it.

If he was named Tevin you faggots would love it :story:
Because Anjin directly influenced Japan by being an advisor to Ieyasu Tokugawa, he directed the construction of Western-style ships and became an envoy to the Netherlands to allow them to open a factory in Japan. He even died in Japan after being given the chance to return to England.

Yasuke has next to no historical records and is only notable for being a slave bought by Nobunaga Oda out of morbid curiosity.

Even funnier about this Yasuke thing is the man that wrote the African Samurai: The True Story of Yasuke, a Legendary Black Warrior in Feudal Japan Thomas Lockley, his work was used or influenced by AC Shadows Narrative for the game.

This man had his whole work erased by Nihon University due to backlash and not just backlash, japanese historians fact checked him about his lies of Yasuke, essentially finding a few vague paragraphics referring to Yasuke in historical record and somehow managed to write 400 page book based on those references, that he himself admitted.

Yasuke has been for years presented as historical fact when it's purely fan fiction of his life, it's not a academic book, it's as real as a comic book.

Note that this is the architect, the maker who made everyone believe Yasuke was this mighty samurai for a long time, his lies spread-out through all sorts of news stations, magazine, etc, and now we got a bunch of people spreading his books nonsense for years to come.

No doubt he'll either play Sword and Shield and get bored because he's not using it to it's fullest (using items, the new parry clashes, mount attacks) or play Long Sword and only use half the moveset while making obnoxious anime attack noises
SnS is too complex for him. He'd probably use either Hammer so he can make Sledgehammer and Hammer time jokes or Greatsword because it's the easiest weapon to master. I just want him to suffer from a B-52 bombing run while on a high rank quest with no carts left and 2 minutes left on the timer.

"Former alcoholics" do not exist. We cannot change our spots.
Okay you mentally dumb fuck of a detractor. You see he was a former alcoholic he isnt anymore despite him still consuming alcohol. You see you can stop being addicted. Clearly you dont have street smarts of books smart. Also please tip.

He also had (probably caused) a car accident back in the day which didn’t help his phobia of driving.

Refuses to wear prescription glasses despite being blind as a bat, is probably nervous as fuck every time he’s behind the wheel and based on his gaming streams he has a shitty reaction time ON TOP OF always being at least a little bit sauced. He just needs to develop epilepsy and you have the perfect combination.

I can only see Phil using the big "macho" weapons. Although he does like "being a tank" so I can see him picking Lance and hardly ever attacking with it, just guarding all day.

But I really think he would gravitate to either Hammer or Greatsword. If he winds up playing with others I can even see how his GS gameplay would go. He would simply spend the entire fight staying just out of range from the monster until his teammates knock it down. Then he'd run in, probably mistime a True Charged Slash and follow it up with a statement like "Yeeea dood, look at that damage! See that's my role I'm the dps I'm supposed to go in when the monster is down!"

He wont go that far. He'll probably do the first two monsters then get filtered out by the first sign of difficulty.

So he'll probably rage quit once he gets to the electric wyvern that was in the demo.

Funny enough I could see him setting up a grift where he'd make the dents pay to choose the weapon for the current monster. Leading to him having no good weapons and not enough materials for good armors and of course he'll refuse to farm or redo any monsters. Cause "that's not the point of the game, dood [assertive snort]"

Man I just had a very strange experience, so sorry for the TMI/PL blogpost but this relates to Phil.

So this random Pokémon stream popped up on my feed with like 10 viewers. I opened it and got an ad, so I just made a random comment to the streamer saying that I hope he was monetized. Imagine my fucking shock when the guy greeted me, read my comment and replied in a polite way saying he is and then talked for a minute about how YouTube monetizes streams even if the streamer isn't monetized, all while still playing the game (he was doing one of those challenging romhacks and on a hard battle) and thanking me for stopping by.

At no point this guy ever asked me to tip or sub, he didn't go on a 20 minute rant about how YouTube is stupid, he didn't say I was talking nonsense (which I was), he didn't rage at the game, he didn't remind me of some stupid goal and how much time I have left; he just engaged with me, some random in his chat and even looking happy that someone stopped by to see him play.

We (speaking mostly for myself) have become unsensitized to Phil that such a simple and average experience has become weird. Like I even felt bad for having to leave, but it's crazy to compare an actual small-time streamer to Phil and how despite all his flashy toys and autistic lights, Phil's content is downright garbage that at its absolute best is a chore to watch. Like this guy barely had a facecam and the emulator he was playing in, yet he was way more engaging with his few chatters and the game he apparently hadn't beaten before.

And it's not like he was a particularly good chatter or had deep Pokémon knowledge, he was just a regular dude. It made me think of what another poster said about how Phil has successfully curated both his content and audience to be as braindead and retarded as possible and how that created a wall that keeps outsiders out and also has locked Phil into not having to ever improve.

On another note, did Phil reply to the disabled guy who made the video about him?
I'm gonna guess Mr. "no one wants to be on my podcast because they're scared of me" ran like a bitch from this literally disabled gentleman's request. It would have been hilarious to see Phil getting absolutely destroyed by that guy. He wouldn't ever live that down.

I had a similar experience. I was watching a Street Fighter 6 streamer in the FGC, and a viewer asked him to review some of their replays and provide feedback, even offering to gift a few subs in exchange. The streamer was really kind and offered to do it for free. In contrast, at the same time, DSP was playing Marvel Rivals and refused to start gameplay until someone paid him $20 just to select a character!
