This seriously illustrates the problem with wokeness and DEI. Maybe the current Dyke chief was qualified for her position, but she put useless people in command beneath her, which becomes a major problem when the DEI mayor decides to fire you to try to hide her own incompetence without realizing that this is going to make her look even fucking worse and more incompetent. My theory is he's going to blame the power company for killing power to the pumps supplying the hydrants. They did kill power to prevent more fires from being started by hot lines being broken by high winds (since that's why they were blamed last time) and none of the hydrant pumping stations had generators for whatever reason. He wouldn't be announcing an "independent" investigation and such a narrow scope if there wasn't a non-govt 3rd-party already set up to blame.

PG&E were found culpable for the last major fire but Newsom basically gave them immunity by fiat. Is it possible he could throw them under the bus in this case to save his skin? I feel like this is finally, FINALLY the point where I post a piece of Californian media that I actually enjoy. Not for the reasons they want. But for the reasons they were trying to make fun of. But watching an American city burn and its own fire chief break ranks, I feel it is time.

I don't know if you watched the whole interview but the reporter had to beat it out of her. She kept repeating prepared statements over and over again in an attempt to not throw the mayor under the bus. The reporter just wouldn't allow it and hammered her.
