A little :Late: but the nearly twenty-year old Realism Invictus mod for Civ 4 had a pretty major update last year: https://www.moddb.com/mods/realism-invictus/news/realism-invictus-37-released

Qing China? This is going to invite some butthurt from the CCP lol. (And to a lesser extent, Taiwan as well.)New Modern Age Civs: Qing China and the French Empire.

New Leader Reveal is Marquis de Lafayette.
Lafayette would be a decent pick if someone like Richelieu was also pickable but Lafayette combined two different Napoleon I's and no historical monarchs aside from Charlemagne is ridiculous.New Leader Reveal is Marquis de Lafayette.
GalCiv IV is finally coming into its own as a game. Still needs some work but they're trying.Endless Space 2, Gal Civ III, Old World and Oriental Empires so far have been the only Civlikes in recent years that, imo, feel like satisfying contenders.
WALKING STICK
Looks like Jose Rizal of the Philippines next to Queen Isabella as well.Frederick the Great and Prussia are in the game.

First look gameplay
Wait, seriously? I didn't have the chance to watch it yet.The AI forward settling right up against the player's capitol is bonkers.
In addition, people are speculating and are fairly certain that the Brits are going to show up as a headliner for one of the DLCs later on because people would be more likely to spend on DLC for them instead of something like, let's say, Buganda. They're specifically believing that it'll be present in the "Right to Rule Collection".A lot of Britons are justly rather mad that they're not base roster in some form. The timing and influence of when Civ VII was developed versus its release during the current cultural vibe shift is going to be an interesting clash to see.
