If Fong Dong brings enough legal firepower that a huge amount has to be spent to defeat him, then he'll have a much larger bill to pay than Russ will.

If anything, a person of means has a lot more to fear from engaging in frivolous litigation, which is why most vexatious litigants are impoverished lunatics with nothing to lose.

While I'm a little sad that Russ' case is going down due to procedural issues rather than addressing the original copyright issue, I'm happy for Josh and Hardin that after 4 YEARS of retardation and hardships, it looks like this case will FINALLY be dismissed.
The judge hasn't written anything yet that indicates he's abandoned his deathmarch to a courtroom. He's sanctioning Greer for directly violating his instructions to make that march as smooth as possible. Russ, being a complete retard, started delaying and muddying everything the moment he had to follow procedure on his own. He couldn't help but spit at the one person giving him undeserved help.

At some point Hardin will press again for those case-ending sanctions. It feels like he's reading the judge during discovery, waiting to motion for summary dismissal once he gets everyone to agree Russ has zero evidence, once even the appeals court could not liberally construe Russ' plights as evidence. Once the judge stops calling these motions premature, then we can talk about the case being in sight of dismissal.

The original copyright issue is a can of worms we absolutely do NOT need the incompetent Tenth Circuit looking at again. An unambiguous dismissal with prejudice on procedural grounds such as failure to prosecute or as sanctions (after repeated warnings from the judge) is not going to interest an appellate court.

If nothing else Russ will loose summary judgment. The Federal Courts love to summary out meritorious claims, let alone whatever this is.

He just did that two days ago. Presumably the judge hadn't reviewed it when he threw down the fee sanctions yesterday. Seems like sending Greer a nice itemized bill and then sitting back waiting for the spittle-flecked ragefilings would be the way to go for now, but maybe there's more juiciness going on behind the scenes.

Russ is in a real bind. There is no way that the bill won't be at least multiple thousands of dollars, my shoot from the hip wild guess is $17k (it sounds like Hardin gets to bill all the time he's burned on blown meet and confers - I'm sure his rate is at least $350 an hour, and probably closer to $500). The Judge doesn't sound interested in letting the case proceed with it unpaid. If he pays it then how does he keep his IFP status and explain all his shit about being homeless.

Imagine Hardin sends a reasonable but a bit high bill over, a couple grand and Russ just agrees and pays.

For max psychological effect, he should get the amount and preliminary receipts ready, and send it over within the next 24 hours. He doesn't need full documentation to reach a stipulation, that would be if he needs to file it with the court in 14 days. The amount alone will give Russ something to screech about and file motions about while he's supposed to be doing all the other normal things for the case. Keep the pressure up.

Plaintiff Russel Greer comes now and reminds the bias judge that he, a trained paralegal, is currently earning $4 an hour, and that anything above this claimed by buddy boy (who is not even qualified in Utah) is clearly an egregious inflation of market rates and therefore moot.

1) HARDIN'S FEES FOR GREER'S DISCLOSURE DISCOVERY VIOLATIONS WERE GRANTED IN FULL.

Sanction chads we are rising Tee Eff up. Soon, with the help of our overly optimistic dismissal bros, we will banish all the negative nancys to the shadow realm and rusty will be forced to suck someone else their penis to pay for The Hardship. The future is bright.

Ok as one of those optimists, there's still a chance! GUAC!

Russ has read Trump's book, "The Art of the Deal" and he is going to make an offer to Hardin along the lines of "How about we forget the costs the Defendant has incurred and you let me live at your house"

Throw in one of his recipes which is essentially just a glass of cream and four pounds of sugar to sweeten the deal.

Even if the bill were only half of what you suggest ($8,000 or so) I don't see even that as something that Russ could expect to pay in any reasonable amount of time. I believe Null had made some previous posts regarding his ability to garnish Greer's wages, but he doesn't exactly earn all that much money. I don't think Null cares that it might take several years as Greer's suffering and the message that the Farms will get its pound of flesh are worth more.

Assuming the bill is much higher, or Greer stupidly continues his behavior and draws additional sanctions, is there a certain point where Greer is effectively making small monthly payments for the rest of his life because the interest outstrips any amount his wages might be garnished? Fatrick paid Quasi a little over $80,000, but that's because he was a dumbass and insisted he didn't owe a cent of the ~$34k judgement against him and let interest and other fees accrue.

Is there some point where Null could ask the court to go full Alex Jones on Greer and make him auction off his assets? After all Greer has claimed his music is worth a lot of money and he has published a book to which the rights could be sold as well. I don't think the right's any of Greer's intellectual property are worth much, but a few Kiwis might bid each other up a little just for the bragging rights have collecting a retard scalp. There're so many interesting prospects to a debt-hell arc for Russ.

I think people need to put the victory confetti back in their pockets. The outcome of all this is most likely going to be "Now that we've settled the recent unpleasantness with a sanction, this can go back to being a normal case about a poor disabled boy being murdered by Kiwi Farms, a website."

That is, unless Greer really does decide this is too expensive for him once his costs rise above zero.
Bro if you don't think rusty isn't going to completely lose his shit over this and tank the case even harder than it already is you must be new here. We've had over 200 docket items and aren't even past initial disclosures.

And only NOW when Russell argues his $225 should be deducted, will Hardin finally let him know "We sent that to DJF like you told us to, take it up with them" and Russ will realize he doesn't even have that win to mitigate his crushing loss.
IMO it's been obvious that that was already paid to the DJF and hardin has been saving it to mess with rusty because of how cagey he's been about it. It's already paid off with the request for a debtors exam which I'm sure did not please the judge at all and is a testament to his skill as a litigator. But goddamn would dropping that it was already paid on rusty like that be ice fucking cold.

Also known as perjury. I wish there was some way he could be prosecuted for this. Ah well, if wishes were horses...

hooker fund seized by Hardin Law and will be the next 20 times you save up the $3000 for 1 hour with a hooker, you'll never get laid again."
I hadn't even thought of that, Forget the rest of the case, this sanction alone means Russ is down to Rosie Palm and her five sisters for the foreseeable future, probably won't even be able to afford lotion.

We are probably in the denial stage right now. Anger comes next.

Thread tax: I expect Russhole to respond, but not for a few days. He needs time to build up a real head of trauma lumps and deliver the mother of all plightsperging.
I agree with you both. Brace for impact lads, there's a plight bomb inbound!

it looks like this case will FINALLY be dismissed. Congratulations to both.
I adore your energy, but no it doesn't. Patience Grasshopper.

To be clear, Patrick's wife or mother in law paid Quasi. Pat hasn't got any money of his own, unless Niki gives him an allowance to go to the bar and get him out from under her benzoed feet.

He didnt need to pay as he posessed the ability to recoup those owed costs via award or sanction (which we are here) as earlier cited in response to the debtor exam.

Are we able to garnish rusty's sweet disability cheques if he is a recipient?
