GLITCH Productions - From the guys that brought you the Super Mario 64 bloopers

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
There was an extensive rewrite going on involving Khan, MD being more self-contained episodes instead of the Absolute Solver Cyn plot and some other things.

First episode is before the rewrite and you can see Doll in the crowd cheering when Uzi killed J.

I believe that Doll was just gonna remain a background character, Thad being Uzi's friend or boyfriend and Khan would've been the first villain.

If a Game ever were to be made it might have a more coherent plot than the episodic crap that ended up happening.
You know what? Considering the things I heard and posted here previously like how originally the show was going to focus more on N and V and their relationship this explains a fair amount of shit.
I wouldn't be surprised if N and Uzi getting together wasn't even the original intention either. I bet you Thad was originally going to be Uzi's love interest but then it was deemed "Too predictable" or something.

No because it was clearly a joke about fast food workers getting high/drunk on the job. Something that happens fairly often in the real world.
Ah yes, fast food workers getting wasted by accidentally squirting themselves in the face with a mysterious liquid. That happens all the time in real life, how could I be so blind?
What the fuck mind do you have to see a fetish out of that???
The mind of someone who's been on the Internet their whole life?? We literally make fun of people on this site who have fetishes about turning lesbians into giant inflated balloons, and you think it's insane that THIS could've been a fetish? I wouldn't put it past Gooseworx.

I caught on that all the giant mouths and eating/licking shit's a vore fetish, but the stupid juice felt more like a contrived, but quick and simple way to make the doll woman open up about her feelings and push the drama along. Then again, same result could have probably been achieved without it.

you're reading way too much into this shit nigga.

There's a pretty good rule when it comes to this, once is a simple joke, twice is a returning gag, three times or more is a fetish.

The creator is Nick Szopko. This is his entire IMDb.

No previous writing roles and the main thing he is known for is Helluva Boss, two very big red flags.

Seems we're finally getting a 2D animated Glitch cartoon made by Dana Terrace of The Owl House.
on one hand, it looks interesting, i think? the premise certainly doesnt look bad but i still feel a little reservation in saying it looks good.
on the other hand, it's being made by Dana Terrace and I assume she has full creative freedom. I never really liked any of the characters in The Owl House and I don't get the impression that was due to executive meddling on Disney's end.

Well, all the artist Twitter/BlueSky dykes have their new obsession for the next few years. Dana Terrace making her own show without any involvement from Disney should be interesting. It may very well become a case study of what happens when you give a raging lesbian her own show with no restraints.

Wait, Dana Terrace?, she's someone from the "mainstream western animation" industry, good lord Glitch is making a lot of connections.

Anyway, don't have much of an opinion on this teaser, it seems to be fantasy stuff mixed in with violent gore, not really that much of a fan on the former, but the latter does interest me.

This is the third show currently on the works, there's also that Gaslight District project, which still has no announcement date for their pilot episode, I assume these two shows have mostly separate production teams since one is 2D and one is 3D, this company is expanding fast, good for them.

He also made this short animated video that got him the "New York Indie Film of the Best Animated Short 2021" award.

I love the Viewtiful Joe/comic book-esque artstyle. Nothing much can be really said about the writing, but you can tell that the creator loves to make his art more "chill" rather than "exuberant".

Meh, if Nick doesn't try to take ALL the creative control from the project I could see it working.

I'm a little excited to see how this would affect the animation industry, with mainstream names like Dana Terrace and TADC being a colossal hit, maybe "going indie" will be the answer afterall.

I've never been particularly interested in GLITCH's works despite my best efforts, but if nothing else, Companies like GLITCH that try to be independent do push the democratization of the animation industry forward and as long as it allows talented people to make their ideas then im all for it. I sincerely hope they don't go the way of companies like Rooster Teeth.

Eh that's fair, all of their shows are basically meta internet humor + creepy stuff, so if you don't like either of these things. There's nothing much to see.

Maybe it's too early to call it that, but I'd like to say it's an "animation renaissance" we're gonna get. Just like how Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon started their channels with the premise that cartoons would be made by their creators rather than toy companies, then indie animation might just be the continuation of that basis.

Hopefully my kids will get to watch a lot of good shows from passionate creators just like how I did when I was a child.

It's kind of disappointing too because with just a little bit of tweaking their shows would also be way better.
I think Murder Drones just kind of put these problems on blast so to speak.

But also to be fair as I said before in previous posts this is unfortunately not entirely a Glitch issue but an issue with modern writing tropes in general. You see this kind of stuff everywhere and it almost always drags down everything it's in. It's kind of sad really.

Personally however, I'm kind of tired of the whole "Oh you think it's one thing but it's actually another thing and it's SCARY or something!" because it's been so done to death by now. It used to be a novel concept but now everyone and their grandma has done it.

I feel like its only really Murder Drones that does that shit to an excessive, borderline unwatchable extent, The Digital Circus is a lot more restrained and grounded in comparison, and if you watch Gooseworx's previous stuff, which often delves into surrealism, this show is relatively sane.

I'm waiting patiently to see what type of tone Gaslight District and Knights of Guinevere take on, if it does take on that funny funny internet humor shit, I might just drop this studio altogether.

"Oh you think it's one thing but it's actually another thing and it's SCARY or something!"
Its not even specifically this for me, I just feel like western animation has a chronic inability to conduct itself without forcing some sort of levity into it, even if it means putting it where it isn't really needed.

Murder drones is supposed to be about this cosmic horror coming to kill literally everything and everyone and it can't help itself but crack millennial-tier "erm... that just happened." jokes, TADC's writing is a bit better IMO but it's fundamental concept is just built for me to get disconnected from it. Its supposed to be this gut wrenching scenario A La "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream" but then puts it into a WACKY scenario with some rather WACKY humor only a troon would find scary. Hazbin, helluva is IMO the worst offender, it advertises itself as this super serious adult animation, and it's got sex and gore and it's like mature, man. Its not. Its a 13 year old's idea of maturity.

And I'm sitting here metaphorically screaming to myself because none of this is computing with me. Everything about these shows are telling me "you should be invested in this because we're SERIOUS." And I'm just not, instead I'm in this of corporeal state of frustration and disappointment because it just fails connect at a fundamental level for me. It makes me wanna tear my hair out.

I have shilled this specific SFM animation multiple times and I will do it again because it's by far the closest thing that's come close to my personal vision of indie animation, and western animation as a whole.
Its half life, but imagine this atmosphere, filmography, pacing, etc. expanded into a 15 part series, set in an original universe.

Stuff like this video is what gets me. THIS is why I keep coming back, THIS is what I think western animation needs. I don't hate Live action, but it's been played out for me. Give me Come and See, but animated, give me no country for old men, but animated. Give me Utopia, but animated. If you're familiar with HOI4 mods, imagine old TNO getting an animated series. Imagine putting the HRE, or SS ordensstaat to animation. It would breathe so much life into the medium for me. I could list many more examples that come to mind, but I think you get the point.

I know with absolute certainty that animation is a medium capable of telling "mature" stories without falling into eastern/anime tropes that I just cannot stand, because I've seen it with my own eyes. It can be so much more than the eternal GA-rated cartoon, yet nothing beyond a few short films has hit the X for me.

This is why KOG and the gaslight district actually pique my interest. Regarding the former, I've seen Dana's original artwork and I think it would be cool to see it fully realized in an animated show, Dana terrace is also why I'm EXTREMELY reserved about it because I can't help but get the feeling it's gonna be filled with what I mentioned before. Something is gonna be put into it that just stops me from getting fully invested into it. I've seen The Owl House, and while there several different factors at play here, The rot goes deep. Even more so with the gaslight district because all the guy has done is HB and some Lo-fi indie short AFAIK. This does not spark confidence for me.

This is why I continually try to support indie animation and the democratization of it no matter how Cynical I get. I can see the potential. I can taste it. But i don't think anything has ever truly blossomed. Its frustrating.
