Warhammer 40k

Nah, humanity is integral for Chaos for being the right amount emotional without controlling their emotions. There are plenty of sapient races that Chaos didn't choose.

For that to work they would need to retcon Slaanesh or at least change they/dems origin story, and come up with a new story for while the Eldar bit the dust.

T'au Empire insufferable annoying homosexual and a liberal and probably has sex with animals.

personally.webp

The issue of Chaos with the Eldar is that they are so autistic they pretty much only empower Slannesh. Not great for the other gods who want to get stronger. Humanity does have a good spread of beliefs to be of use for all the major gods.

Why are there no other Chaos Gods but the 3 born by humanity and the 1 born by the Eldar?
Gork, Mork, Cegorach(currently guardian of the black library), Khaine(fragmented into avatars, technically not dead), Isha(stuck in a cage in nurgle's garden), Ynnead(and that one was born in the 41st millenium), vashtorr is a greater demon that's kind of a demigod. There's at least 2 other eldar gods that were named, was one khaine's brother and I forget the other one. That were consumed along with others by slaanesh.

So the eldar are responsible for at least 6 plus slaanesh. And the orks potentially 2. Remember, a chaos god isn't a "god" so much as it is a warp entity that gained enough power to become something of a god, and as such they can have varying power levels. Even claiming Khorne, Nurgle, and Tzteentch being born by humanity isn't entirely correct either, since at least Khorne was started when the warp(originally sea of souls) got fucked up in the first place by the war in heaven(necrons vs the old ones/eldar/krorks).

edit: and of course the old ones may as well have been the equivalent of demigods themselves, plus the c'tan from the necrons that weren't even warp entities but needed to be busted up into shards(only 1 got killed, I think it was 2 may be intact?).

Is it just me or are there a bunch more Trench Crusade videos all of a sudden? Especially from Warhammer content creators?

If I search for trench crusade and sort by upload date, the only channels I'm seeing that were really "warhammer" channel are mr bones 40k(never watched it) with a lore video. Other than that it's a bunch of random new channels posting shit about it, Eric's Hobby Workshop and Black Magic Craft posted a couple videos but they aren't warhammer channels(general tabletop hobby channels maybe?) and that's about it going back 5 days. Most of this is a bunch of 100-10k view videos all trying to become the trench crusade channel.
That's more of a meshmixer demo/tutorial than anything really.

Still nowhere near as numerous as humanity is to sustain the Great Game.
Thats because humans killed them all. Really, humanity is the best for chaos because they check 2 objectives
( ) psychic potential without some major barrier
( ) spread like rats
The Kroot in Kill Team well said it, humans are seen by other races as basically pink orks.

Can someone give me a quick rundown on the controversy with Trench Crusade? I'm not sure why it gets so much hate from 40k vets. It seems interesting.

What do people think about the Night Lords trilogy? I think it has some good moments, but other times it's kind of a slog to get through. Out of the ADB works I've read, I think Betrayer is the superior work.

Wh40k fans are mad at GW for retcons. 40k fans start hyping Trench Crusade up as an alternative. Trench Crusade discord mods make an announcement to the effect of "reeeee get out chuds." Wh40k fans get angry. I believe the discord which made the declaration has been dropped by the devs.

Chaos was a lot more stable before The War in Heaven. Both the Eldar and The Old Ones had mastered the warp. One Olds didn't need Gods, and the Eldar used their Gods as tools. Their Gods were knowingly created to assist them. There was never any misconception over what they were. The only other race were the Necrons who knew of the warp and thought that shit was fake and gay. The only Gods they had were the C'Tan and they ate whatever souls would've connected the Necrons to the warp anyways. After Slaanesh devoured nearly all the Eldar, Humanity were the only ones left with a strong enough connection to the warp to sufficiently feed the chaos gods.

The Orks have Gork and Mork but I dont know much about their lore. The T'au have a weird budding chaos god of The Greater Good. It may become relevant someday, it may end up being nothing. T'au are too weakly connected to the warp to create a god on their own so it's mostly made from all their auxiliary races. As mentioned already there's Vashtor who was the central plot at the end of 9th edition. He got some key thing that was supposed to help him ascend to proper godhood, but GW saw Tyranids and forgot about him.

The Ork gods are largely much like the Orks themselves in that if enough Orks believe it to be true it is, which is why Orks can pull all kinds of funny beliefs like certain paint schemes do certain things. It works because Orks believe it to work.

Its 40k's religious autism distilled into an edgy setting with actual religions and dogma instead of vauge similes and composites.
It has a contingent of people who think themselves superior to chuds without muh "media literacy" who think the emperor/Imperium is cool.
Its claim to fame is that its primarily from artist Mike Franchina and One of the Mordheim designers, midwits think its a 40k killer because of its crowdfunded nature and ex-GW people leading it. Although alot of redditors consooming it just use 40k Minis to kitbash it anyways and some even get angry if you say you think its similar

Because it's boring shit with little lore(what lore it has makes even less sense than 40K), it's astroturfed to hell and back, isn't even a mini game at the same scale as a 1000 point 40k game(it's a skirmish game, for which there are already dozens out there), the art isn't particularly appealing, there's no unifying anything regarding what you get on the tabletop(there's official models but they encourage just using whatever, so your table may just end up looking like a mess), the 2d6 system it uses force a curve on everything which normally is fine but as the system grows can be a balancing nightmare, the portrayal of some factions is laughable(the muslims all being super science alchemists would be the most obvious "wtf?"), if you don't live in a country where private clubs exist and you rely on stores for play space you're never going to see much support for it after initial hype waves die down(stores already have products they hardly support as it is, they're not going to support a product they don't even sell), etc.

And that's before getting to the issues with its community like the time they were pre-emptively banning people from their discord for also being in public 40k discord servers even if they never said a damned thing because "muh vibes" without the company behind the product immediately stepping in and putting a stop to the bullshit.

It wasnt, they just moved it from 28mag to a bespoke server since more and more people were just there for TC, but afaik they had a hand with picking the new jannies and its equally faggy
