Honestly,
he mentions that he will maybe hire someone. I think he isn't as stupid as YanDev.
He will pull off Elon grift, by hiring someone to do everything. While Maldy will take most credit.
After all he has experience in corporate grifting. And he kept himself afloat by taking credit of group effort before.

If he pulls this, he will have long life of grifting as indie dev on twitch ahead.

Also did he actually say “fuck open source”? A very wild stance to take for someone who likely uses OBS.
Not this directly, but he strongly dislikes Stop Killing Games, because having to open source abandoned games is "harmful to the industry".

A few chatters suggested he open sources Heartbound, so they can finish it for him, he said he'll never do that, because he'd be robbing his hecking sound and art guys, of their percentage of the game sales.

Did the bullying work this time? I guess he didn't like us making fun of his abandonware for the 5000th time. Also what was the previous build schedule if it had to be changed to monthly, Jason? Screenshot_20250119_124052_Discord~2.jpg

So now he is going to minecraft because he got ridiculed out of all the other online games. LMAO
The Minecraft thing isn't new, he's been working on a modded server for as long as I've been aware of him (around 2 years). I know this because back when he used to be a game dev streamer and I used to care about Heartbound, he was always working on that fucking server instead of the game.

A thought hit while catching up on the thread and I realize I have never even once seen a clip nor heard of this guy ever getting actually excited about working on his own projects or enjoying the little "aha" moments any trade entails. All his hype is reserved for feeling like the smartest guy in the room or recounting how he epicly own zoned someone (in his own head).

The best opposite's day analog for him I can think of off the top of my head is that kaze guy who goes apeshit with niche old N64 optimizations and seems to sincerely love and get excited at figuring out workarounds and how to make things that were considered impossible before a reality. It all goes well above my head but I know the faintest little enough to get why some things would be a big deal.

In fact, in this video in the latter half he admits that he's a "Dumbass with compilers" and thanks people for helping him figure it out.

Something mald could never see himself stooping to because then he might have to admit he doesn't know everything and isn't the best human being ever born which puts him at risk of coming to terms with the fact that his 7 gorillion years at blizzard has ultimately taught him nothing at the end of the day.

Except that maybe... gullible people are very easily impressed when they lack even the surface level knowledge to start picking what you say apart.

I well and truly believe that nepo-baby boy actively goes out of his way to avoid talking too much at length about code or game development in any meaningful sense because he knows he's a hack and not a hacker and he's insecure about it, and in the most perfect visual symbolism possible his coding is literally reduced to a prop backdrop to him telling watercooler stories and his hourly brain rot mandated I-work-at-blizzard recitations.

Also what was the previous build schedule if it had to be changed to monthly, Jason?
According to Steam:
6 updates in 2023
0-1* update in 2024

*It was updated on April 1st, but it is unclear if it was just a joke in the Steam changelog, or if it actually changed anything in the game itself.

After thinking for hours and seeing the FTC resolution about Genshin Impact.
Its more likely that he's protecting himself and Ludwig about this live service game that runs in the company both founded or some bullshit like that.

If you release the source code, it could lead to showing bad business practices like rigging % or lootboxes in order to squeeze more money from people or kids which could put even his streamer job at risk (he's literally a industry's plant) and I noticed this pattern of him sucking the dick of every single company he wants to interview higher up employees to milk views on youtube or get sponsored (Warframe and Ashes of Creation). He's a textbook grifter.

hmm, I can say that if we abuse the hardware with a (or maybe couple of) software, we can indeed use software to fail the hardware. although... rather than showing the hardware was defected, that may indicate the hardware was abused and misused... like spamming 2025 benchmarks on a 2010 computer. even though it might be EXTREMELY hard to do, in theory it is not impossible. aaaaand when you say "all chickens are white", all I have to do is to show you one nigga chicken.

so either this guy does not know what he is talking about, or I am kinda dumb idk, should've take my meds just now.

edit: just realized this dude still uses the same rhetoric, "nothing to blame, not insane opinion, I am always right, I know what I'm talking about" etc.

The people eat this up because they don’t see they are being played. I genuinely feel sorry for those people. There has to be a point where people will see how little he cares about the game. It’s also strange because usually I see one month dev updates and how the game is going. Not there will be a game build each month. Maybe he will start doing stuff as he realises people have caught one (at least people that matter to him)

I doubt this will last long though as he will definitely pull the mental health card and since his fans are cry babies they will believe that.

The idea behind SKG is not to force devs to release all server binaries as-is, but to somehow keep the game in a functional state past end-of-support, it would be perfectly fair game to release a build that has none of the rigging, as long as people can use it to keep the game alive by themselves.

People would probably be a lot less mad if he wasn't such a passive aggressive bitch about it. If instead of making excuses and pointing fingers he was just like "yeah retards pulled too many and ran lmfao I ain't dying with you niggas" people might be calling him based instead of a bitch. But then again, I'm a bitch nigga in video games too. I'm the kind of guy who if Leroy Jenkins runs into the kill box I'd be like "lol fuck him he's on his own" instead of running in after him.

Its work you gotta do, money you gotta waste.

He joined Offbrand games as Director of Strategy at half 2024.
Rivals of Aether released in late 2024 published by Offbrand.
The game has cosmetic microtransactions and its a live service game.

He has a personal bias in this matter, in fact he has all the reasons to go against SKG.

That is one of the most retarded takes I've ever heard. If there's no frame limiter on some games, the hardware can fail, this is a clear software issue causing hardware failure.
In some instances, a dodgy driver or windows update can brick a GPU, it has happened before.
In the case of motherboards, an improper update of a Bios can brick the motherboard, this is a clear software issue effecting a hardware failure.

Bios is firmware not software. 🙏

But yeah. Baffling take on his part. Stuxnet was software built to cripple hardware.
