I believe you are referring to Ade of assnapkins fame. Kat is the SJW who Ralph voted for Obama for. She is not much too look at, but she ditched Ralph because he was a deadbeat alcoholic loser who installed a keylogger and location tracker app on her phone while having no aspirations of leaving his mother's house after he failed out of university. Judging from her IG and tiktoks that I archived she became a functioning adult who works for a cruise line and travels a lot. She is still fat, and ugly, however.

Most rehabs do let you use your phone at least in America. They like to be able to hang it over patients heads as a punishment to take away.

They would never expect a paying, white foreigner, who doesn’t speak Spanish speaking and has no local friends or family, to give up his only means of communication with the outside world and his pocket translator.

Not having reliable service because he’s busy moving and traveling 2,000 miles to be closer the border, does seem like a viable reason Ralph would be offline for a week.

Or maybe Ralph checked himself into a Mexican psychiatric facility where he could keep his Xanax but not his phone. Ralph is seeking treatment for the BPD he whined to Harry Morris about.

Two things, if he did go to detox then no phone. Second off, from my knowledge of a few rehabs they will keep your phone away from you for the first week or until you complete an assignment.
I have no idea what they do in mexico though.

If Ralph is being truthful about any “intake” he did then he’s just going into some quack wellness center in Merida.

There are no actual drug rehabs, as we think of them, in the Yucatán. There’s one “ibogaine treatment” place in Cancun that is $10k. There are a few western style rehabs in Baja, but they are far out of Gunt’s price range.

I’m the Merida region are either hardcore Mexican run places for its citizens, which Ralph would never be able to handle. Or kooky “health spas and wellness retreats” marketed to Americans that I’m sure would promise to cure anything to get your CC#.

People are taking their concepts of rehab from the west and applying them to Mexico, which is an entirely different world. The ones that are run for the average addict in Mexico require six months minimum, they are not fucking around. It’s like boot camp for addicts. Ralph wouldn’t even be able to complete the Spanish language intake.

I think he’s moving, but Ralph is dumb enough to give money to some quack that promises to fix his broken brain and cure his life long addictions for the low low price of $900.

Sober Ralph wouldn't make him anymore interesting. He'd still be the same fat hollarin retard he's always been. He won't suddenly start making smart decisions or treat people with respect. He won't get a real job and become a productive member of society. He won't change for the better in any tangeable way because Ethan Ralph, as previously stated, is a fat hollarin retard. His brains have been wrassle wrassled for years. The drugs, if anything, made him more entertaining. The problem as I see it, is the choice of drugs Ralph uses.

Of course on Xanax and booze you're gonna sound like a dying deer that got ran over by a semi truck. Maybe trade that in for a little peyote. Then we could really see an all-time banger on the Killstream.

Having read that article, I don't think Ethan is the kind of client they want. Its designed to milk the money out of their family and keep them there longer. Since he's paying himself they have no loving wife and kids to plea with to keep the funds coming in.

To be frank, though, him getting locked into a room and forced into therapy by way of threats of violence for a few months would probably be the only real way he'd get clean and it'd likely have more positive benefit for someone like him.

Lmao, this is the type of rehab that would charge $900 a month! As I said before Mexican rehabs are similar to jail or boot camp. The language barrier and look at the accommodations would probably ensure Ralph would never get in the front door of rehabs like this.

It would be hilarious if Ralph basically paid to get himself jail detoxed, but Ralph needs English and a slick sales pitch to commit to spend $900 to fix all his problems pronto.

The small sample size of people I've known to go into in-patient rehab (30-day initial term variety) were not allowed to keep their phones with them. Computer use on provided computers was permitted after a period (week or two) for work/jobseeking purposes. That may have changed somewhat recently, but I pulled up a couple of "what yo bring" resources, and they said no electronics, and gave info for using their facility-provided phones (landlines) and receiving physical mail.

Eta: just read a few things on the places where people I knew went, and it appears they do permit electronics now after a week or so! Hopefully they out time limits on it or something, though :-/

Mine allowed electronics, but mine was targeted at working people with dual diagnosis (many of whom were laptop caste) and veterans (also dual diagnosis.) They could take your electronics away if you didn't follow the rules, though. No electronics during IOP hours.

I suppose it varies wildly. My only experience is with a facility that only allowed us cigarettes (no electronics) and the only lighter was a single caged push button heating element in the smoking area.
