Shaye always had an actual job, Exotic Veterinarian Assistant, which is probably the only reason the ferret rescue even exists at all too.
Taking care of 50 ferrets should probably be a full time job.

I knew a chick who racked up crazy debt at a private college for a 2 year degree as a vet assistant to make $13 an hour.
Two years in college with debt to make slightly more than McDonalds is crazy. I looked a textbook for vet tech students to see what sort of material they cover. A lot of it was just word definitions or how to tell if a cat is happy or angry, or what an obese null looks like. There's a section on job hunting, how to emotionally deal with dead pets, inventory tracking, trimming cat nails, and generally cleaning up after the animals and vet. It seems reasonably skilled so I'm not sure why the pay is so terrible.

But there's an entire section on anal glands, showing a "Finger cot" used to manually "milk" the anal glands. $13/hour for this, I don't know man. I know farmers have to do some shit, but that's farming, and these are just dogs that live in a house and keep dragging their asses along your carpet.

You’re equating Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants. They’re two completely different things.

Vet Techs are the veterinary equivalent of nurses. They work under vets and usually do less glamorous tasks but the pay is relatively good.

Veterinary assistants meanwhile are even bellow that on the totem pole, for shit like kennel work.

People are willing to put up a lot of money to cure such a dog, veterinarians are more than happy to oblige.

If you have to fingerblast a dog's ass why wouldn't you wear a full glove? This is just asking to get shit on your hands.

The glands themselves are extremely close to the outside, so finger-gloves are fine if you want to cut down on waste and have more available, many vets just have a gigantic box of full gloves anyway.

TBF this was like over a decade ago. Even then it was considered low.
And shit yeah the other guy is right. I was thinking of vet tech not vet assistant.

Supply and demand. There are so many people who want to be veterinarians but get filtered for whatever reason so settle on vet techs/assistants and there aren't that many openings to begin with compared to many typical jobs. It's already covered but there are tiers to this with different levels of credentialing and all of it has a relatively low pay ceiling, even veterinarians since they're literally animal doctors.

the real reason to use full gloves is so the deviant streamer that hired you doesn't mix them up for condoms and fuck the ferrets

I'm specifically talking about Veterinary Assistants. It's even in the title of the book I'm committing [FAIR USE] on.

I looked it up earlier and still see people online talking about making $13-15/h as vet assistants, or sometimes up to $17/h. It sounds like it's even worse now if it hasn't kept up with inflation.

I know Exotic Veterinarians are required to have a license but what are the odds she doesn't because she's just an assistant?
Vet stuff sometimes gets a little dicey on the "who can do what" legal end of things on a state-by-state basis, but generally, if she's just an assistant, there is a high chance (as in, close to 99% chance) she does not have any type of license. You only need a high school diploma to be an assistant. An assistant is not the same as a veterinary technician, and is generally not allowed to do advanced clinical care tasks (ie: place feeding tubes, venipuncture, administering certain vaccines, etc). Rarely will assistants ever be credentialed. There is a thing called a CVA, but it's such a waste of money that you might as well go burn a few thousand dollars in your backyard for funsies. Assistants' main tasks mostly involve a lot of cleaning, organizing supplies, maintaining equipment, and patient restraint.

Most, if not all CVTs/LVTs (certified or licensed veterinary technicians, which is like the veterinary equivalent of a registered nurse) work specifically as veterinary technicians. To be a CVT/LVT you do need to learn commonly used medical latin prefixes and suffixes (and prove through the VTNE that you know them lol), so I highly doubt she has a license, as I recall her saying on a ferret post that she "needed a vet to translate the xray report [to her]". If she was a proper CVT, she wouldn't need any such translation.

Imperium/Goons are not and have never been the most powerful or influential faction in the game, and yet they are referenced over 300 times in the video. Pandemic Legion, one of the formost pvp and super/titan using factions is mentioned once, Norther Coalition the group that for the longest had the most supers/titans in the game(and used them) is mentioned once. PL and NC. were largely the most powerful coalition in the game, and generally won fights when they engaged in them. Black Legion emerged as a very powerful faction that could contest both Goons and Panfam(PL/NC.) and they weren't mentioned a single time. That isn't even to mention all the powerful low sec groups that could swing battles via their participation.
didn't the goons get their shit kicked in by an alliance of lowsec corps?

I don't mean to boomer facebook clap but this left field hooked me and gave me the chuckles.

I'm not the most well versed in the game but goons typically relied exclusively on "Pile enough retards on in the cheapest most disposable shit game money can buy" tactic, aka clog the treads with bodies. Which is fine to sweep regular players and temporarily occupy big swathes of space that are not high value but it tends to fizzle out if people know what you're doing.
