From a console manufacturer's standpoint, MS has nothing to offer. They only have Game Pass and that is a double-edged sword that is on PC too.
Theoretically, I could solve a cold case tomorrow. They had 4 console generations to find a niche. They have been trying to brute force themselves in the console market and it gets clearer by the year. They never had a plan, they are that middle-aged guy that showed up at the frat party wearing an Elvis Presley costume and announcing themselves by screaming "ALRIIIIGHT, I AM HERE!! LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTEEED!" only to try to hit upon all the college girls and get rejected, at which point he sits awkwardly at the table being miserable but no one has the heart to tell him to leave as long as he does not hurt anyone. MS is here but you never get the feeling they belong here and you do not want to be mean telling them to leave.
But why keep making consoles? We get nothing from them anymore. Stubbornness and awkwardness are the only things keeping them here.
Again, Game Pass is not a good product for the industry. It gives money to MS but also causes games to fail. It is very double-edged.
They will fire so many people, it will not even be funny. Sad but when an arm of a company goes down (especially when it was an advertised one) stocks go down with it. In order to keep the shareholders happy, firings will be immense.
If the main character is customisable, maybe it will have decent initial sales. If there are few/no good looking NPCs, it will crash Veilguard style. If we are truly stuck with Lady Pazuzu as the PC, sit down and watch the fireworks.

As with EA, Ubisoft et al, these companies will either start purging commies from their ranks or face annihilation from Chinese developers, who have both the backing of their government, but also have the good sense to not antagonize the straight, male demographic.
Looks like they are all in for everything except making good games.

as it stands, it was in everyone's best option to sell out to MS, they aren't making the money back ever, its not like when disney brought Star Wars where it possibly breaks even because of people buying older shit. like the price will never get there.

This could really work for Fable, it's basically on the title, like an old story you read as a kid. If only there was a game they could use as inspiration for the story book style...
