No.Can I have SOMETHING?
Indy has been doomed franchise since River Phoenix OD'd.I have the first three movies, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, and the few classic Lucasfilm Games Indy games. I'm good, thanks.
The review embargo too, which is a bit strange.Oh wow, the Indiana Jones game just dropped today. That was fast. Unless it's people from other countries playing it early. I think it's open world.
My god, I didn't realise the Indy game was being made by these guys! They had a solid hit with the Wolfenstein remake remake. Outstanding gameplay, decent story, and it's like they made a solid effort to destroy that franchise totally and utterly. Sad.
Then they made the mistake of admitting that you'll be playing the female sidekick for part of the game. They know this will be extremely unpopular, especially following the last film. I have the sneaking suspicion this is what the review embargo is actually about.
Look at this no game indy collector edition, fucking hell
Who the fuck gives a shit about Indiana Jones in the 2020s?
Indiana Jones feels like such a Gen X thing at this point. I was born in 89 and even I don't really have much nostalgia for it anymore. There's no way todays gaming demographic gives a shit about Indiana Jones, right? Especially after Crystal Coconut and Dial of Destiny?
Can I have SOMETHING?
I've never seen an Indiana Jones film, but I'm curious of the game since it's on Game Pass.Indiana Jones was an 80's nostalgia fest of pulp comics and tv serials from the 40-50's. Adults grew up with those and teens at least were somewhat familiar with their existence.
Millenials onwards had no experience with any of those and thus dont have much of an attachment to the source material Indy is based off. Now, to be fair, Indy does stand on his own two legs and he is an icon of the traditional white adventurer exploring forgotten ruins and defeating the bad guys. A very classical hero. Even if you arent as engaged as people were back then, at least you can respect what he stands for.
MachineGames' expertise is first person. Why is it even first person? I want to see Indy.
"But in my mind, what we're asking the player to do in our game is really to step into the shoes of the world's most famous archaeologist.
"And we strongly believe that the first-person perspective is what makes this experience the most immersive; it allows the player to focus on the adventure, to feel like they are Indy, interacting with the world around them.
"And also, since first-person games are very much part of our pedigree here at MachineGames, it felt like a natural approach for our take on Indy, and the feature that will set it apart from from many other action adventure games out there. And I think, you know, it is something that brings something really unique to this game."

This guy, who is evidently an Indiana Jones fan, is fond of the game. Take that what you will.
I don't know. That's just the first thing I saw about the game.Imagine unironically using a Gmanlives review as a legit opinion
This is the guy that said this
His check cleared first.I don't know. That's just the first thing I saw about the game.
The plot of the first one was also retarded in the extreme. Also the plot of Colossus was kind of trash that legit made people unironically root for the nazis because our main characters were either annoying, unlikable or both.
MachineGames made only one good game: Wolfenstein The Old Blood. The rest is Tarantino slop.My god, I didn't realise the Indy game was being made by these guys! They had a solid hit with the Wolfenstein remake remake. Outstanding gameplay, decent story, and it's like they made a solid effort to destroy that franchise totally and utterly. Sad.
It has been over for quite a while but thanks anyway. Here we have it folks, Xbox have become a 3rd party publisher.
Xbox Insider Says The Age Of Xbox Console Exclusives Is "Over"
Cool. I hope Phil has all GoW ported to Steam.Well it’s a reason Xbox games are going multi-platform now.
Xbox games included in Game Pass can reportedly expect to lose up to 80% of expected premium sales.
why the fuck did they think to do "day-one" releases? they were way better off just letting everyone have the back catalog, the fact you could get 3 years of game pass for the price of one new game just made people see their new releases as worse. same way letting new movies on streaming sites 5 weeks after release just meant people stop bothering to go to theaters. if its 2 weeks old you might as well wait for it to show up on some service you pay for.Well it’s a reason Xbox games are going multi-platform now.
