Bethesda just posted the PC specs for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and... well...

...I don't know if it's poor optimization on Bethesda's part or Xbox Studios wanting people to buy a game console (preferably Xbox, we all know that they want that fee-free cash) but seeing them suggest a $2k-$3k graphics card for Ultra settings and full raytracing is just mind-boggling retarded.

Edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention that you got this game for free if you recently bought an NVIDIA RTX 4000 series graphics card too.
Forced raytracing is new. That tells that the developers were extremely lazy and probably used raytracing to skip baking lighting, so the game will run like shit

the new indy game is dead on arrival. thanks to gamepass and mentally ill developer.

Everything about this game was the wrong fucking move it's actually kind of hilarious, because an Indiana Jones game would probably sell well if it wasn't made by these retards doing the dumbest shit imaginable.

First of all, who the fuck wants to play an Indiana Jones game in first person? None of the iconic Indiana action set pieces you've seen would work from a first person perspective. Not helped at all by the fact that from what little combat and exploration we have seen, it looks really clunky. Neither the whip or the fisticuffs seem to have the appropriate amount of weight or control to them, and we all know how shitty first person platforming usually is.

Much as I hate to say it, an Uncharted ripoff would have been the way to go here, especially since there hasn't been an Uncharted for like a decade at this point.

Then, they couldn't even get Harrison to reprise his role. Unfortunate but kind of expected, there's bound to be an imitator out there who can do the role justice. Maybe even have Harrison hand pick his replacement, like Al Pacino did for Scarface back in the day. That worked out.

Oh, wait, we cast Troy Baker for some reason. And it's really obvious it's him, too. So you don't get to look like Indiana Jones and you don't get to sound like Indiana Jones. Not much of a fucking Indiana Jones game.

Then they made the mistake of admitting that you'll be playing the female sidekick for part of the game. They know this will be extremely unpopular, especially following the last film. I have the sneaking suspicion this is what the review embargo is actually about.

I have to give the devil it's due here, but this game has no rasterization option. The left is basic ray tracing and on the right is full path tracing. Full path tracing is fucking brutal on GPUs still. 1440p@60fps is reasonable for ray tracing on a 3080ti.

Still going to suck based on gameplay.

Who the fuck gives a shit about Indiana Jones in the 2020s?

Indiana Jones feels like such a Gen X thing at this point. I was born in 89 and even I don't really have much nostalgia for it anymore. There's no way todays gaming demographic gives a shit about Indiana Jones, right? Especially after Crystal Coconut and Dial of Destiny?

I've always found the treatment of Indiana as some gigantic blockbuster mega hit IP as kind of weird. It's not fucking Star Wars. It's two and a half decent movies and nothing but shit since then.

Indiana Jones literally punches Nazis. He's reddit's favorite character. Basically he's a big jewish fantasy. He's played by a jew, gets to punch and fight Nazis, and have adventures around the world with zero consequences. It's ultimate escapism for nerds and weaklings. A character like that will always be popular when the media is run by leftist types.

It's not about the character being popular. It's about the political and social messages the character and his movies sell to the masses.

I was born in the late 70s and have fond memories of the first 3 movies but never understood the rock hard cum dripping boner some people have over this franchise.

Honestly everything about this game makes it feel like it should have come out 20 years ago, the first person stealth screams one of those doom era knockoffs, i distinctly get Thief: deadly shadows vibes from this game.

The shoving of an IP into a poorly made game also fits, it really tells you how smart consumers have gotten that this game will flop, it would have sold gangbusters 20 years ago just based on name alone. same way CSI, Saw, Lost, and 24 had shitty PC games that sucked but because they were there in your local gamestop/target/office depot you might be tricked into buying them. I can just imagine watching Adam Sessler riping this game a new asshole and going "1 out of 5" like they did with almost every IP game from that era.

Indiana Jones "steals" relics from indigenous groups though. I thought that would make him "big yikes" to those people.

In fact, didn't they have to replace him in his final movie with some wokeshit comedienee in his final movie just to cater to the "modern audience"?

What's going on with her face?

And I Googled Gina Lombardi and got back a fitness coach.

Okay, she's an Italian reporter. And it takes place in the 1930s. Okay, we have a vintage woman side to side with Indy. I like it. I hope the writing isn't bad.

thats no vintage woman, its a lesbian feminists girlboss for the modern audiences.
