Now that's according to Nick, so it's safe to assume they had some other reason.
The cops considered Nick like a cult leader, because he acts like a fucking cult leader.
Aaron would actually be correct if he did express that view, but he'd hardly be the first or only one to have come to that conclusion.
On the topic of this issue, namely this Superchat, and another one, in which he says the cops believed he was a cult leader...
Nick may have this wrong (shocking, I know). Nick's PASTOR reported him, fueled by 2-3 women (whom I am sure he considers "Karens"). These women are all Evangelicals and/or members of the Grace Homeschool Coop. Moreover, Nick had been a
teacher for the older kids at the Coop before being dismissed.
Nick is/was very charismatic. I do not doubt that he was a
very popular teacher, probably to cult-like levels.
I'm not sure that the source of this was all about Aaron. That said, Nick has said that he has reviewed the witness statements. I could be wrong.
I doubt he's even going to Vegas unless it's to perform a reputational/legal kamikaze mission.
I've recently been forced to accept that Nick isn't trying to rehabilitate his reputation whatsoever.
The first shoe dropped during the puppet stream in which he talked about April's vag and loving her.
The other shoe dropped during his 1/22 stream (he hadn't streamed to YT in over 4 months) in which he accepted no responsibility.
I don't know what his game plan is. He doesn't appear to have one beyond leaning into Dax, Vito, and the Dabbleverse. Vegas is a bad idea on so many levels. Dabbleverse fans will have ZERO issues filming him partying/drinking.
WHAT THE HELL WAS HE EVEN DOING AS A PUBLIC DEFERNDER IF HE HAD ALL THAT TIME BUT NOW DOES NOT???
However, in more remote areas, there might not even be an official public defender, but they just appoint local counsel from whoever is available.
Gosney was an appeals specialist for the indigent when he first came onto lawtube. Then he jumped to the Dade County or Miami DA's office as their ... ethicist? trainer?
I've watched a lot of Gosney. My understanding is that despite FL having a reputation as a red 'law & order' state, there have been significant efforts to better address their overly punitive punishments, particularly the death penalty. Gosney has spoken (think Catholic) quite passionately about, for example, low-IQ criminals on death row. He's worked on a number of these cases.
He was hired in Miami to address said concerns but was promptly dismissed when his soft-porn book came to light. (It was something of a woke-mob political issue.)
