I got one of those back when Obama was running for president, this isn't even the first time they've done thisYouTube now can show you 60-minute unskippable ads
Still winning on Brave. Most ad blockers don’t work so I just pay the $13.99 to shut them up.
Is that a guess or news?
Anyway it sucks how YT keeps going worse. An endless succession of BS choices.
We’re reaching innovative new levels of piracy previously unimagined.
Not watching things with ads? That’s a piracy.
Letting the ads play but muting and not looking at them? That’s a piracy.
Watching the ads but not buying the product? That’s a piracy.
Well that's fucking horrifying. A mate of mine got an ad about a chick masturbating. He told us all about it, found a reddit thread about it. And yeah, it was literally just censored porn.Got an ad with a lady getting eaten from behind (obviously you dont see it anything significant) and it says how her husband was able to grow his shlong with this secret tecnique.
Seems like youtube ads literally became pop up ads that move.
Basically we have reached the "Witch Trials" phase, huh?
YT was much better in the '00s. Much, much better. No video ads yet (IIRC), no "Premium" BS, and no freakish or scam Clown World ads. It's not a problem of cost, it's a problem of service.
Internet ads always annoyed me. From those GIF banner ads in the '90s, the pop-up ads in the '00s, and whatever Current Year ads are.Remember when ads were fun.
If there was ever a chromium based browser i'll shill for, its definetely brave, between them supporting Ublock directly and always being quick to update their ad blockers its probably my favorite browser, especially for youtube. Add in Ad nauseum to help make youtube actively lose money, all the better.Brave and never got a problem
Im starting to feel this way to, save a few I still watch just for background noise. I just stick to older videos and podcasts for when im at work or working out because I need some background noise now.I can't watch any YouTube video without thinking to myself "What am I doing?" and clicking off. Every video is edited to keep the attention of a goldfish or has some guy talking into his mic for an hour about something that doesn't matter.
Ah yes, that "video essay" ... likely better off as a text article.some guy talking into his mic for an hour about something that doesn't matter
Oh yeah I can't find plenty of videos without the same method either. It's fucking aids when you're hunting for songs, or even obscure videos that used to be so easy to find. I can't wait for this website to fucking perish under the weight of it's rotted baggage laid atop it.YT search got a little worse. I like to look up official OST vids for Japan vidya, and entering searches of the OST titles in English would bring them up. Now it doesn't do that unless I copy-paste Japanese titles from wiki or the like. YT really needs competition...

And despite YT getting ever worse, they still claim BS measures against front-ends is to "protect our community" or some such soy BS.

I wonder if the Youtube tab crashing randomly is tied to this too. They are trying to make it unusable for non-paying users. That is the real play being made here.
Because it's not allowed. It's like the imageboards, only 4chan is allowed to exist. If somebody tries to make a new one with more features, they will get spammed to death with CSEM/CSAM.It sucks that there is no real competing video sites on the scale of YT. Such monopoly is part of why Google keeps getting worse now.
Home taping is killing music!remember guise, ad blocking is piracy![]()
Can you imagine a broadcast TV show being interrupted by an endless "infomercial"?half hour long ad for a hair loss remedy
Don't copy that floppy!Home taping is killing music!
My preferred NewPipe fork is BraveNewPipe. It includes all the goodies of Tubular, but also works across multiple platforms such as Rumble and BitChute. It's what I used before I switched to GrayJay.the Newpipe dev team are a bunch of insufferable fags. Use a Newpipe fork instead
https://github.com/polymorphicshade/Tubular - has return youtube dislike, wordfilters, and sponsorblock
https://github.com/InfinityLoop1308/PipePipe - same as above but for weeaboos and Chinkoids
This is what Copilot had to say when I copy and pasted your post into it: -reposting in the appropriate thread
Hope I can ask this question here. I'm trying to remember a YouTuber who no longer makes content but I'm fairly sure his channel still exists. It was an irreverent comedy channel by a British or Australian guy with humorous takes on video games and the video game industry in general, I believe.
The one unique thing that may help to identify who I'm talking about is that this guy abandoned his channel on purpose by having the character he was portraying die as part of some story arc. His fanbase thought it was just a joke and that he would come back before too long, but he really did disappear for good after his "death" (he actually died on screen in his final video, IIRC). Keep in mind that this was not an honest attempt at tricking people into thinking he had died. The whole thing was played for laughs.
Does anyone know who I'm thinking of? This annoys me because I know I liked his videos a lot but I've completely forgotten all about them.
It sounds like you might be thinking of "Super Best Friends Play" by Caleb, also known as CalebGaming. Caleb was known for his irreverent humor and unique takes on video games and the gaming industry. His channel featured a character named "Caleb", who eventually "died" as part of a story arc in one of his videos. Fans initially thought it was a joke, but Caleb truly disappeared from YouTube after that.
