I heard people shilling for that game alot so i downloaded it on steam and it install some creepy anti-cheat on my computer plus i think you need some chinky account I recommended you make sure all the files and processes are manually deleted if you accidently install this game thinking it wasn't chink data-collection scheme.
they don't need to leech your data when they already got all that info from your politicians and tech companies they've invested in.

and you need some anticheat, unless you're ok with playing on a gamepad on a completely walled of system like consoles or get sniped with a sidearm from the enemy spawn.

Vehicles used to be "spawn in the back, run up to a vehicle, take off, and 5 mins later you're in the fight". Strong, slow investments. Now, you instantly spawn into a bomber that auto-regenerates hp, simply just flying over the chokepoint and dropping bombs for 10 kills, rinse repeat. "Oh, I'll play Lis and go anti-vehicle to combat these mlg420 faggots". Nope, one rocket does 15-20% dmg to vehicles, which is either regenerated or repaired.
what balanced vehicles was that they actually had to resupply, not constantly sit in the air/back and shit out fire for the whole match. but that's apparently to inconvenient to vehicle whores in dice' opinion.

I play defensively by nature and it just doesn't work in 2042. There is no "front line". People spawn around and behind you, and sprinting around like a mad man is the only way to get anything going, if not these 50 tools call out your position and you get killed by some faggot with a 420 tier profile banner.
that's a map/mode problem. compare bf2 conquest to bf4 conquest for example. one reason everyone liked rush and then operations because it gave you a clear direction (which plays into metro 24/7 as well)

They'd lose the modern BF audience if they slowed down the game but without doing so, it ain't battlefield. I watched 5 mins of bad company 2 and I was surprised how fucking basic and slow it was.
what modern audience tho? 2024 isn't obviously what people crave, and the retarded zooming around reaction-clicking is already done by perfectly by cod. they could still put TDM for those fags in a bc2 remake while keeping everything the same.

The fact 2042, V and 1 compete for players underline how fucked and disorganized the franchise is. It's not "I don't like the direction of the sequel", it's "i like this but not that, but this is getting updates and this is old". And the whole Portal shit? I tried looking into it but other than the fotm queue it's impossible to figure out.
 
I am curious, what do you guys consider the main issues of modern Battlefield and how would you fix them?
 
Things to remove from Battlefield to make it better:
  • Health regen for vehicles and players (What's the point of medic and engineer/mechanic)
  • Quick respawn (limit it to TDM, increase "give up" penalty)
  • Unlimited sprint
  • Unlimited vehicle ammo
  • Laser accurate LMGs
  • OP "specialists"
  • Xray vision bullshit
  • Fire and forget weapons (limit it to mobile AA vehicles and emplacements near flags)
I'd buy Battlefield 2 remake, just nerf claymore and nade spam. Squad is the closest thing to it, but it's too tryhard "realistic".

funny enough lot of those changes are actually in delta force (it has some other issues tho, like lopsided gun stats).

The frequency of the same servers with the same maps and modes in the server browser. Solution, allow the option bots to fill in if the player base is dwindling to have some variety. Maybe even have a rating system for servers and creators so you'd see what modes they create and if they're power hungry.

return to a purely class based system and a proper server browser instead of randomly joining in progress with matchmaking, my other complaints are mainly secondary, Portal is just too free-form in that some third-worlder just makes a 24/7 XP bot farm server with no repercussions, so if you want to play 2042 properly you have to just go into conquest or breakthrough and hope the match you join is not close to being finished (I get theirs JiP protection after the first game but still)

that will just lead to people leaving once an unpopular map/mode pops up, and bots are not really an adequate replacement.

easiest and cheapest solution is just have hosted servers like in the past, so everyone can host and play the game however they want (arguably even more important with everything being online and connected to a "community" on discord now). want your metro 24/7? there's a server for that. want your "classic (not hardcore) rarely played maps" server? host your own and see how popular it is. everything's public already so the devs can see too what works and what doesn't, no need to for shitty "game changer" programs with influencers that say anything for money and swag.

the only other way to "fix" it if you need to have matchmaking because ranked is having a focused event. delta force for example usually has a week long event for a specific map/mode tied to event tasks, so people are guided towards specific content and play it even if less popular.

I played 5 mins of hardcore before I realize why it felt so punishing and rewarding: No sprint-dashing midair crouch-jump wallah bing bing wahoo!

Run around a corner? You're gonna lose in a firefight.

I'm old but not "I had the chance of playing BF2 growing up" old.
BF3 enjoyer here, Hope to play VU with anyone or regular servers if you guys do any of that.
Also for anyone that cares, I just happen to sign into my BF3 BL (battlelog) after a few and it seems like my console stats are 0'd out, this apparently also happened to the PC servers a few days ago but those came back up, but nothing as of yet for console stats.
 
The amazing BF2 level loading music is etched into the brain since everyone had to spend so long listening to it. Also the gunplay was terrible, having to dolphin dive to win fights and no red dots.

BC2 was peak battlefield.

I didn't really mind it. Also, RDS' were only just being introduced into service during that period. It makes sense that they wouldn't be widespread in the game. It's also, in hindsight, a breath of fresh air for me, with modern games forcing optical sights into settings they don't belong. RDS' were only just being introduced into military service during that point in history.

I just want a Battlefield Vietnam 2.

-Good faction variety (US, ARVN, Australians, South Koreans, NVA, Vietcong, Soviet advisors)
-Vehicle variety (helicopters, tanks, jets, patrol boats)
-Map variety (jungle, urban, underground, military bases)
-Weapon variety (everything from cutting edge US weaponry to French stuff from the 50's to WW2 surplus Soviet and Chinese weaponry, flamethrowers, Vietcong booby traps)
-Banging soundtrack

Could also have female VC as a customisation option and US troops came in all races so all the forced shit in BFV wouldn't be an issue

Yeah they really fucked up vehicles starting with BF1.

They went from strategic parts of the battlefield tied to points, to powerups that eventually became god mode powerups with the aa counters + health regen. Tanks/APCs are essentially unkillable unless the person in it is retarded or you somehow get 3+ other people to help you.

They’re easy to deal with in BF1 i don’t know what you’re on about, just place AT mines where they tend to travel and you’ll be good.

Most of the time the vehicle slot is hogged by an artillery truck anyway.
