I am not certain what Trump plans on doing, if anything, regarding Gaza. He said he was going to sign the tariffs with Mexico and Canada regardless of their diplomacy. Then those countries caved, they negotiated, and the tariffs didn't go through. In my view, Trump is doing the thing of "I will absolutely do this thing unless you give me a better option." He's calling the bluffs of other world leaders.

I'm a dumbfuck in terms of geopolitical affairs, but I think that having the Palestinians isolated to their own state for the welfare of the Middle East would be the best course of action. Apply sanctions to whoever attacks first. I would prefer that the US would just leave them to their own affairs unless they potentially cause conflict to neighboring countries. Trump being an ally to Israel is not surprising given he's a New York real estate developer. If you bomb the Gaza strip, those Palestinians will be displaced elsewhere and other factions would be created that can cause more conflict.

I don't think the Arabs have the money, manpower, political capital, or the will to handle the situation themselves. In the past, Trump floated the idea of the Israelis and Saudis managing Palestine together, but that ship was sunk by the Biden administration. Biden completely fucked this up by reversing all of the Trump-era negotiations and diplomacy between Israel and Saudi Arabia. He went with the Obama tack of negotiating with the Iranians, which pissed off a lot of Arab countries.

Basically, you have the GOP that wants to get rid of Iran entirely and work with the rest of the Arabs, and the Democrats who believe in a globohomo "rules-based order" that wants to preserve Iran somehow. Obama's approach was to let the Iranian leaders think they're tough shit and piss off their population enough that a revolution happens. Remember Obama's Iran deal? Well, the government bragged about getting all that money. Then a year passed and the people asked where the money went, to which the Iranian leaders said "what money?" This led to a lot of protests. Iran is not as stable as the leadership would like the rest of the world to believe.

The problem is that this perspective can easily turn into outright support of the Iranian regime, which is what's happening at the UN and is what happened during the Biden administration.
