The most simple advice is: use whatever. It doesn't really matter. You can even TRY THINGS YOURSELF instead of relying on someone else's opinion. All the popular choises such as unity, gamemaker, godot and even less popular ones like monogame and sdl are solid

Mind, I don't necessarily endorse all of the speech here. Just because you have the unquestionable right to say something doesn't mean you should. But I was both impressed with and heartened by the nuanced understanding in a number of posts.

Also, for the fellow who called me "Creamy Mario"--when I was a teacher, my students did call me "Mr. Creamy" (as well as C-Dawg, Creamalicious, Ceraminator, etc.). And that comment happily brought me back to that time.

There are a number of other things I wish I could say, but I cannot, as service to my client's interests comes ahead of any personal expressive interests. It is good to know, though, that not everyone has been mislead on the facts or the law.

Also, if you come across an instance of censorial bullying, misusing the DMCA or the like to silence "the little guy," you know where to send the person. Or if a content producer gets free speech law wrong and needs being corrected, please send them my way.

There was a dude earlier today that went onto Reddit and uhh said that he was using my voice in a video game, showed a bunch of videos of it, and then put that game up on Steam. A lot of people in the uhhh thread told him not to do that, that that would end up being a legal problem for him. He did it anyway. So I filed a DMCA claim and he has now filed a uhh counter-claim against me. We're gonna take you to court, you're going to lose. You cannot use somebody's likeness in any way inside of your games without their permission. It's a really stupid thing to do, incredibly so.
So I'm going to send this over to khronos now because he is a lawyer in copyright law, that is his job.

• Say we have to file a legal complaint
• Say "We're gonna take you to court"
• Say khronos' job is being a copyright lawyer

Khronos's first sentence to Mald should have been "not an attorney" to avoid Mald's confusion. Or maybe the overseas copyright lawyer should recommend a US copyright lawyer if Mald wants to go to US court over a US claim. Doing things properly doesn't allow them to try to intimidate shitposting indie devs, though.
