Horrorcow Bryan Johnson / Don't Die movement - How far would you go to live forever?

The entire time i had a feeling he wants to become his son. The way he looked at him had me thinking of a vampire looking at a virgin.

It's almost like he wants to life long enough so he can swap himself with a younger version of himself and keeps going on (something similar to "Fat Farm" by Orson Scott Card). The fact he has absolutely no problem of draining his son blood to rejuvenate himself at a cost of son's health tells you a lot about him.

The way he cried because Talmage was going to college and leaving him was uncanny to watch. It was almost malicious. Idk how to explain this.

But maybe its just my tism talking.
The kid was doomed as soon as he was named "Talmage".
I can definitely appreciate the desire to not want to die, especially when you reach middle age...But i cant help but feel that this guy isn't really living a good and healthy life. all he does is throw various fake science experiments at his body, and then obsess over the results, day after day..no going to concerts or seeing shows, hanging out with friends, no actual interests. sounds like a mind crushingly boring existence. the sad thing is that he honestly doesnt really look younger at all, he looks exactly like he should for his age.
i hope he can find peace for whatever inner turmoil is plaguing him.
It's really weird. It's like he dropped the religious aspects of Mormonism, but remains absolutely Mormon in his metaphysics. For those that don't know, Mormons believe in a physical resurrection instead of a spiritual afterlife, in which there is no sickness or aging. Jehovah's Witnesses believe in something similar as well.

she grafted two rats together by their skin and she noticed the older rat get younger as a result of sharing blood with the younger rat. The paper she published about it was her only paper as she was laughed off by the scientific community for engaging in a Frankenstein project.
That's the same way they got a male rat to "carry" a fetus except that nowadays Frankenstein projects are widely lauded so long as they're troon-related.

Your most German post yet!
Interesting
I thought a very German reply to this person would be "no, this study and this study show why this is not working, the state must prohibit this, this is very illegal" or "tax the rich so that everybody can afford these treatments, these treatments should be publicly funded so not only the super rich can afford this"

I don't know about that, but this is definitely the most German reply to a joke since Florian said "Actually there are four of us".
Anyway - I respect Bryan Johnson. I had mixed feelings up until the point he replied to a Sam Hyde tweet like this:

I don't follow him all the time but he clearly can take a joke and is doing something that might provide some interesting answers for humanity about longevity - maybe wanting to live forever is a bit weird but I have heard that the development of Formula 1 cars has lead to countless innovations and inventions that have improved normal cars, so if this shit he is doing accidentally discovers a cure for cancer or alzheimer's? I'm all for it.
An old man at the bar told me that these guys are obsessed with longevity because they fear judgement in the afterlife.

I was thinking it was some sort of "oh no I haven't actually ever created anything good, no one will remember me when I die because I have no trade or output or personality, just this pile of treasure" thing, then they try to never die so they'll never be forgotten/"a nobody", but old man's assessment is probably the correct one.

That means these lame tech/finance billionaires are even lamer than previously thought - they basically think they sold their souls to the devil for riches, and then try to get out of the deal after getting their money. That is top-tier grifter entitlement.
showing that anyone at any age with enormous amounts of resources, manpower, and free-time can become healthy;
Rob McElhenney did it years ago.

I think we are overdue for a thread on e/acc people in general. A lot of them embody peak science loving reddit, and its truly a spectacle to behold. A bizarre combination of wanting to believe the tropey sci-fi shows and movies, thinly veiled garbage peddled by celebrity "scientists" and other such sewage that they consoom is totally going to be real, combined with a tenuous grasp on their own mortality and on existential concepts in general.

If you really want to get all nihilistic and secular about death, you still have to accept that the afterlives depicted by religions are just as much speculative as your assumption that death means being conceptually obliterated. There is literally nothing to garner about post existential concepts because it has no basis in physical reality. It's just pseudointellectual nonsense trying to sound deep that enthralls midwit "intellectuals" like a pair of jingling car keys.

This guy is pretty respectable though. He's obviously dedicated and motivated. Not really anything wrong with trying to live forever (Spoiler, it won't work.) but this is definitely a good in for the topic of e/acc.
For you and others: I made a thead to suggest a subforum for e/acc, rationalists and AI niggers etc (would include musk, aella etc). If any y'all niggas done eating your cornstarch and ignoring your ceiling bird feel free to add suggestions to the thread and hopefully dear feeder will comply like shitty grok AI and give us this beautiful gift: https://kiwifarms.st/threads/e-acc-rationalist-ai-and-tech-subforum.211819/post-20561156

(Bryan Johnson would be included in said subforum)

So if the male rat was sharing blood with the female rat, what happened to the offspring?

Isn't this also what Jews believe?

This the guy measuring his son's erections?! Turning his son in a meat puppet. JFC.

The media is about to expose something big about Bryan. Sounds like it could be an illegal/shady sex thing.

Bryan made a thread full of tweets basically saying he didn't do anything but the media is out to get him and is about to attack him.

I hope it's something new and not just a rehash of the old accusations like he seems to be implying. Well, I guess what I really hope for is that it's all fake and this freak isn't hurting people, but juicy new info is my 2nd hope because I don't think Bryan is innocent at all lol.
I'm active in a lot of technologist/e-acc/singularity type spaces online and I'm kinda stunned by how much the people in these spaces stick up for him. I can understand why some people like his work even if I find it very ghoulish and of questionable efficacy myself, but it's shocking how much people will let slide about the freakish behavior he exhibits with people in his personal life just because they like the Don't Die stuff.

I really got a kick out of #4. Yeah, that's why people want to see you taken down a peg. It has nothing to do with the gay incest masochist freak show you've turned your life into, it's because your rich as fuck peers... don't want people to drink berry smoothies? Baffled as to what status-quo power he thinks his vitamin sales app threatens

Not really "the media" but The New York Times specifically. They don't exactly have the most credibility at the best of times and are known for doing similar hit piece bullshit all the time.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
They can be right but it sounds like its just going to be stuff that is rehashed from before.

I'm not sure why Bryan is so worried anyway, considering he is nigga rich like Notch and can just go do his own thing. It's probably a good idea to get ahead of the story anyway seeing as it sounds like its just going to be rehashed shit.

That's exactly what gets my hopes up tho. Not the smartest thing for johnson to do, boosting them like that.
Or they really have nothing and he just wants to get the maximum use out of that hit piece when it comes.

I've been aware of Bryan's anti-aging regimen for about a year now, and while I've been watching it with some intrigue, a part of me is inclined to suspect that the whole exercise is little more than an elaborate midlife crisis. He's revealed in the past that he spent his youth as a Christian missionary oversees, only to eventually have an existential crisis and leave the church (along with his marriage) in his mid-30s, so it checks out that he might want to return to his youth and do it differently now that he's got more money than most people could ever dream of.

I'm also highly skeptical of the scientific value of the data he presents, given the lack of controls and limited sample size, although I can't say that I have any strong philosophical disagreements with the project itself. If anything, I'm actually grateful that there is someone out there doing something like this, because if it actually does lead to some valuable insights into some of the ways that we could potentially stave off certain aspects of the aging process, then I think that would be great.

I think I said this before but one really "loses" their religion. They just don't ascribe themselves to the metaphysical aspects anymore. An exmuslim still acts like a Muslim (though this time e-jihading for atheism) and an Ex-Mormon like the Techpire Bryan Johnson or Rusty over here still want to wear the funny undergarments do the secret handshakes and own their own planets. They just think that they can do it without space alien lower case god the Father anymore.

Reposting this.
Just because Brian "left" the LDS doesn't mean the LDS left him. He still wants his own planet and he would wear goofy undergarments and do silly handshakes if it means he gets to live another 10-15 years

So it has been just over 2 weeks and there's no NYT article.

Did Bryan Johnson win this battle?
