I am approaching the 70 hours mark in KCD 1, and I am having a wonderful time. Really glad I finally gave it a go. Wouldn't put it my top 10 at the moment, but it's pretty close which I would have never thought would happen despite its issues.

Question to the people who are playing the sequel and put a decent amount of time into it:
Ignoring the whole DEI/faggot shit for a moment, does it feel like a sequel ? Did they iterate on the game systems properly ? Or does it feel more like a soft reboot, shuffling things around ? Not planning on playing soon, makes sense to wait until they release all DLC and patch the game, just curious.

Even if you ignore all that, the writing has taken a nosedive. It's full of Reddit "humor" and Marvel garbage. Even if you also ignore that, the rest of the writing is equally bad with modern words and idioms all over.

The game is just revolting to anyone that actually liked the first game for what it really was.

After playing some more of the game, I’m actually inclined to agree. Many of the things people have been moaning about are pretty minor in context of the game. Making Henry a (optional) homo is a really stupid decision, though.

Not only budget and the marketing campaing, but days after starfield came out players started to hate it because is shallow and the 889443943 planets are all similar. KCD II is anything but shallow (at least in my playthrough 30 hours in at this point)
The sentiment with KCD II is already really different than Starfield, the player's reception is already good.
The same way the Hogwarts Legacy "boycott" failed, the KCD II "boycott" its seems that also failed.
