Plagued /r/TNOmod and the Reddit HOI4 modding community - When a subreddit for a video game mod turns to utter insanity

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Update; Played up until 1972, right before the 2WRW. All of the events in Brezhnev's path fire correctly, all the loc is alright, there is a problem with newspaper event images (Basically, newspaper events use a GFX key that directs to the image they're supposed to use, since the Tyumen overwrites that file with the operation deepfreeze TNO GFX file, old events like the old cambodian content or muscovy civil war don't fire) but that'll probably be fixed after the 2WRW integrates the new TNO content. The main two big issues are:
1. The 2WRW focus tree not loading after unification.
2. The outer manchuria negotiations decision not showing up (which might not be a big at all)
First one is pretty self explanatory, I don't know the cause of the issue just yet and 2WRW integrating the so far from god content makes ascertaining the file that's the source of the problem hard.
Number two might not be a bug at all, since I actually like having fun and through flipping his ideology momentarily to communism, got the comintern to send volunteers to Long Yun resulting in a total Chinese victory. In the ended I used the state transfer tool in toolpack to give outer manchuria to me.
#1 is the biggest issue as of now, but I could implement a ducttape fix depending on if the problem's only with Tyumen or is a wider problem with the Russian warlords as a whole.

So here's something interesting. I received an issue on the git page for something I already fixed. (the number of errors is much smaller now)

Turns out this guy was led to the git from the unofficial steam upload

I idly checked his steam profile and as it runs out he hosts the Goering's Wild Ride Submod

In TFR, do you think its pretty dumb how insistent they are on having the leader portrait be the head of state rather than head of government/paramount leader? This is fine for the US and Russia but Canada and Australia's portraits are the literal who governor generals rather than the actual PM's.

The head of state is the one who represents the country on an international level. I think it's fine to stick with that

It's okay, I really don't want another excuse to stare at Justin Trudeau's mug.

Take away some of the autistic schizo shit like Pirate Miklos Horthy and a lot of the Malta stuff and KX is an even better direct upgrade on KR.
I think the last time I actually booted up KR was after the Germany update and that pretty much killed any remaining interest I had in the mod. KX is infinitely more enjoyable now.

That said, there are still some rough edges. It may have been updated since, but my Senor Largo run was one of the most painful experiences I have ever had in HOI4.

Late-ish but on the subject of USAID, it's funny how in TFR the liberals lose support in Russia when America collapses. I guess the Russian devs were aware of it already.
It's been an a long-running talking point in both dissident right circles in both countries, the only thing missing was actual itemization of what shell accounts and how much money was being sent to them.

It has pretty much always been known in right-wing circles in America and Europe that USAID and NGOs are super shady and facilitators of regime change. Look at fucking Georgia with 15,000 registered NGOs inside the country. It getting blown up and exposed only shows just how massive the graft and corruption was.

That's the hilarious thing about many Eastern European states. If it's not state controlled or aligned, it's probably funded by the US and to a lesser extent the EU.

Georgia is especially hilarious because the country is basically a monopoly game property that changes hands every decade or so. Ivanishvili didn't even have to do much sneaky stuff to get the country, he just bought it.

Edit: He's basically a real life hoi4 player and all the political events are just him taking focuses.

One thing TNO, or any Cold War mod in general, is missing is the lack of shady finances funding subversive elements of foreign governments. Of course, some mods timelines allow for less of it compared to reality.

That would require admitting that perhaps liberal bureaucratic systems aren't the daisies and roses people pretend they are

The US is so focused on promoting gay niggerism to Eastern Europe that they tried to subvert Estonia once back in 2006 under the Bush Adminstration, simply because a gay Cuban mulatto got told to fuck off by the locals. That's how serious they are to that extent.
1. (U) Summary: Discussion in Estonia about tolerance and integration has focused mainly on the cultural and linguistic divide between the Estonian and Russian communities. Looking forward, the GOE intends to broaden its Integration Action Plan to include initiatives designed to address integration of new, and non-European, arrivals. The timing is auspicious. In the wake of several racially-motivated incidents involving Embassy staff and the wider diplomatic community, on March 2 the Ambassador initiated a Tolerance Action Plan to raise awareness and sensitivity with GOE officials, law enforcement, academics, NGOs, and with the Estonian public. On June 6 the issue gained prominence when Dutch Ambassador Hans Glaubitz reported to the press that he was leaving Estonia due to racist and homophobic incidents against his African-Cuban partner. End Summary. 2. (U) While Estonia's minority population (of non- European descent) is tiny, membership in the EU, rapid economic growth, growing tourism, and declining birthrates will increase immigration pressure and potentially lead to an increase in the number of racial minorities (i.e., foreign workers, students, tourists, immigrants, etc.). Reported racially-motivated incidents have been relatively limited in number to date, and law enforcement officials tell us that there is no evidence of a statistical spike. However, over the past year there have been six incidents of U.S. nationals being racially harassed and/or intimidated. Anecdotal evidence from members of the wider diplomatic community, foreign tourists, students, and business people also indicate that challenges may lie ahead. 3. (SBU) On Feb 21, the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) report on Estonia made a number of recommendations to improve the atmosphere for tolerance. The report has been criticized in some quarters for having been poorly sourced and based on incomplete information. However, ECRI made a number of recommendations and observations with which we agree: - Estonia has no hate crime specific legislation, and Estonian prosecution of hate crimes has not been aggressive. Punishment for first-time offenders is particularly lax. - More efforts must be made in awareness-raising to ensure that law enforcement officials and victims of race hate crimes are aware of appropriate provisions of the Criminal Code allowing for prosecution of hate crimes. - Estonian authorities ought to add the teaching of the benefits of diversity and living in a multicultural society in school programs. - Estonian authorities need to provide support for the Press Council of Estonia and the Estonian Newspaper Association for training journalists on issues related to racism and racial discrimination. - More training is needed for law enforcement on issues related to racism and racial discrimination. 4. (U) In March the Ambassador initiated a Mission Tolerance Action Plan to begin a conversation with our Estonian interlocutors on tolerance issues. The initiative is based on the premise that it is far better for Estonia to tackle this problem while it is fairly limited than to try to address it later when it may be more entrenched. Our strategy has been to share both positive and negative experiences from one of the world's most diverse nations, rather than provide a preachy laundry list of what Estonia must do to fix the problem. We believe the approach has been appreciated, and, given the positive reception from GOE officials, NGOs, and Estonian civil society, is hitting its mark. 5. (U) To date the Embassy has organized the following series of events and activities, specifically targeting GOE officials, local government officials, educators, NGOs, law enforcement, students, and young people in order to raise the level of awareness, sensitivity, and understanding of tolerance issues. Additional events are being planned for the coming months. 5. Additional events are being planned for the coming months. - On April 18 Post hosted a DVC between the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and Estonian working-level government officials (national and local) and NGOs to discuss promoting tolerance in education and sharing best practices. The Estonian participants found the SPLC's relationship with local government and law enforcement very informative, and the SPLC has promised to share its latest tolerance material for use and adaptation by Estonian officials. - A recently-returned ILVP recipient (February/March), Ken Koort, Advisor to Minister of Population and Migration Paul Eerik-Rummo, wrote an article on May 20 based on his experience in the U.S. for one of Estonia's leading Russian dailies. Koort praised U.S. multiculturalism and reflected on what Estonia could learn from U.S. diversity.
Keep in mind that this was from the time when the Bush Administration had the "God-fearing Christian" reputation worldwide.
The same happened in Bulgaria with your usual USAID-funded political parties "Yes, Bulgaria!" and "We Continue The Change." popping up out of nowhere and advertisting themselves on Facebook and then failing to take off. Why one would ask? The locals didn't care about such issues because they're working their asses off to even care about faggotry in the first place.
It would be interesting to see how TFR could implement such system after all.

Well at least they're reigning themselves in a bit. Funding friendly foreign organizations I understand, but pushing homosexuality in foreign countries was incredibly stupid. I've seen otherwise pro-American people get turned away because the Americans were trying to hang pride flags everywhere. But alas, pragmatism is a dying art these days.
