Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

no more killstreak stacking.
False, you are able to stack killstreaks like in MW2. I never understood why they removed it from later CoDs.

lots of the balancing in bo1 was a direct response to all the shit people hated in mw2.
Did Last Stand start in Black Ops? No, I think CoD4 has a "downed" state as a perk. World at War did too, but only if you had the option to revive teammates. Clunky, nobody used it there.

@The Last Stand are you still finding people playing it online?
Servers are iffy. Don't be surprised if you disconnect during a match or have your pre-game lobby freeze up.

they did remove it, a kill you get from an rcxd will not count towards an attack helicopter, they removed this because you could snowball hardcore into the bigger killstreaks such as chopper gunners and nukes. mw 2019 added this feature as a perk

last stand was a thing in bo1 but would be nerfed into the ground going forward, only appearing as a deathstreak combination with martyrdom in mw3.
blackops 1 is very much a strange combination of older per mw2 cods and mw2 its self,

last time i checked the pre jetpack cods' (4-bo2) still have servers that you can at least find matches of tdm on. for some reason bo3 has like 3k people on at any given time

I thought you meant "killstreak stacking" as, you get a UAV, die, then get another UAV without losing the prior one. What you talked about sorta came back with Black Ops II and Cold War since streaks could be obtained with points, not kills.

i think they realized how badly they fucked up with mw2 with people getting nukes in less than 2 minutes

That astronaut in the Moon map IS annoying. I thought Double Tap was improved in Black Ops 1, not 2. Looks like I was wrong.

sucks, but I have no choice to play on mute now whenever I play CoD multiplayer, the community is just of the worst in all of video games, kids,ESL retards, etc. I just get so pissed hearing most people on the mic that I begin to physically feel the anger in my body, not to mention the AI voice moderation will just ban you if you call them out on it, but thats honestly secondary for me personally.

Oh, don't remind me. Which CoD are you playing?

MWIII voice chat, particularly in Search & Destroy, always has somebody spamming music, hitting on females, using a soundboard, or just being obnoxious with their racial/verbal abuse on a terrible mic.

This is because Sony decided the PS5 needed a mic in the controller that's set to on by default. As soon as that thing came out any game with crossplay became way worse with all that shit.

On the topic of consoles, was surprised to see world at war with full lobby's on Xbox backward compatibility.

Which game modes and what time if you know? Most I can find is Team Deathmatch, War and Der Riese for Zombies.

Speaking of CoD and Xbox, 2009's Modern Warfare 2 is projected to be the next CoD dropping to Game Pass around March or April. Whether the campaign only remaster or the original title is unknown. If true, it'd likely be the 2009 original to stay in line with the older CoDs recently being added to the Microsoft Store on Windows.

I still find it funny that after all these years, people still don't understand that the team with the most defends almost always wins at Domination.

I think that's synonymous with CoD's run-and-gun culture. People prefer obtaining kills over playing the objective. That's not necessarily Call of Duty's fault.

I'm still playing MWIII over Black Ops 6 (even during a limited time event, that should tell you about the current state of the game.) Good news, I've completed a prerequisite to obtain its mastery camo, Interstellar. That being was to obtain the Forged camo for 36 MWIII weapons, which that entails to completing 36 base weapons camo challenges. Now, I need to do 36 specific challenges for the Priceless camo to unlock Interstellar.

I like how the Gilded & Forged camos look for the weapons.

Will definitely detail my journey to this camo. In short, it's a grind with some tedium.

Tried to install IW4x to run bot matches in MW2, and the installer is somehow broken (missing dll), and I can't be bothered to try and fix it.
You need to download and install 6 gorillion redistributables to get it to work. Fuck these troons who took over PC CoD clients.

I'm happy that MWIII exists since it looks like Sledgehammer Games tried their damnest to overcorrect what went wrong with MWII's multiplayer. (If IW had full reign on MWII.) Weapon unlocks, cumbersome UI, perk progression, underutilized extraction mode, marketing on nostalgia. That said, since the majority of MWII carries over to MWII (weapons, maps, not sure about progression), MWIII's existence invalidates MWII as it's a copy/paste that feels like a substantial update similar to No Man's Sky.

I wish I would've played MWIII to unlock Laswell before she was locked behind a paywall now... *sigh*

How's it compare to MW2019? It was really the flashy pixel effects and superhero costumes that burned me out on MWII before I even unlocked all the guns.

How do I put this? Movement is slower, maps have more versatility, the differences are subtle since the general skeleton is identical. I wouldn't call it an evolution, just different. I haven't played MW2019 in a while, how is THAT game now?

I'm not looking forward for the next CoD. The ending of MWIII left a cliffhanger that would probably be answered in another Modern Warfare installment. I doubt that the next CoD will be an original subseries given Vanguard's tepid reception.

People have mostly quit using Jigsaw. I occasionally run into guns with blue sparkles, but it's like any old COD, a mix of newbies just now getting it because it's cheap, and psychos who have played it every day for five years straight and are absolute gods at the game. I sort of suck now (lmao old), so the SBMM keeps me mostly with the shitters.

Tracer rounds for weapons is plausible and cool without being too distracting. I liked that customization option. I wish there was more ways to obtain tracer rounds without paying for it.
These flashy pew pew lasers are for ADHD retards and everyone who uses them are nigger cattle. If I play COD, I expect something resembling a realistic tactical aesthetic to it, if I want futuristic bullshit I will play one of the jetpack COD games. Thank goodness at least they're paid content, that means retards who want to use this have to empty their wallet.
