Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

These flashy pew pew lasers are for ADHD retards and everyone who uses them are nigger cattle.
I draw the line to where WHEN you kill somebody, some effect would happen after the death. I know one example to where after you kill somebody, your body disintegrates into black smoke. It gets worse to where a GRAPHIC would clutter your screen during and after the kill.

Tracer rounds for weapons is plausible and cool without being too distracting. I liked that customization option. I wish there was more ways to obtain tracer rounds without paying for it.

All COD guns already have tracers unless you're using blackout.

Why do people still take this grifter seriously? He already admitted he's a leftist who doesn't take what he says seriously and just wants to make the right look stupid, not to mention getting his ass handed to him by Act Man of all people.

What's your issue with the video?

When I say tracer rounds, I mean colored muzzle flashes when shooting. Curious, do you have the mastery camo for MW2019 or you don't care to grind for it?

Thank goodness at least they're paid content, that means retards who want to use this have to empty their wallet.
I have 2600 CoD Points (I can't believe the official acronym is CP.) but I have nothing I want to buy with them.

I thought this was great.
I will say this at least, SOCOM 3 was really great back in the day. I'm honestly shocked nobody has tried to pull off another game like it, or SOCOM 2 for that matter. Little plot but with lots of gameplay variety in how you tackle objectives. Commanding your squad with a wide collection of orders you can give, some basic vehicle combat. It would be a breath of fresh air to play something like this again.

You'd expect a shooter with such tactical engagement as SOCOM to be a PC title or a RTS game. No, it's on a PlayStation 2 video game console playable with a controller. That's damn impressive.

Since we're talking about Call of Duty, I don't think CoD was ever meant TO be a tactical type of shooter. That's okay.

I never even finished the attachments. I quit when they blew up the battle pass for merging in CW crap and also started seeing Jigsaw everywhere.

After 100+ hours of grinding, I've finally obtained MWIII's prestigious Interstellar mastery camo! Long story short, it took countless games of camping, praying, containing anger thanks to the SBMM.

Of all the games to grind 100+ hours in, it's the one that matters the least(unless we count Vanguard). The last game where grinding mattered at all was Black Ops 3 since the Dark Matter camo could be seen in Zombies, even Single Player if you wanted to. This was also the last game where every mode was universally good. Nobody is ever going to praise MWIII's campaign mode, assuming you can even use that mastery camo in single player. Does anyone even play MWIII zombies anymore? Doubt it, so you can't enjoy it there either.

Maybe it's just me, but modern COD just doesn't look like a +100 hour game anymore. More like a 20 hour game at most, with all three modes included.

Not really. I have accumulated around 60-100 hours on older CoDs. With that, it's not atypical for me to have a high playtime.

I've never played MWIII's campaign (I don't plan on it,) but I'm certain camos are restricted to multiplayer/zombies.

The last time I've grinded for a mastery camo was Black Ops II's Diamond camo. That was related to the sniper rifles, not any other class. I expected MWIII's mastery camo progression to be similar. It has changed since MW2019 with the same format.

Again, to unlock Interstellar camo, you'd need to progress through all prior camouflages for 36 MWIII weapons. There are base weapon camos for various weapons followed by Gilden (complete all base camo challenges for a weapon), Forged (complete X Gilden camo for a weapon class) and Priceless (complete 36 Forged camos). You'd need to level up your weapons to unlock the ability to obtain the base weapon camos.

Key word, 36. There are 54 MWIII weapons altogether. You do not have to obtain the weapon camos for every weapon. If you're not good with a particular gun, you can skip it. However, for the Priceless camo requirement, you need to complete 36 Forged camos. Here's a table of the minimum Forged requirement for each weapon class.
Assault Rifles6
SMGs6
Shotguns3
LMGs4
Battle Rifles3
Marksman Rifles4
Sniper Rifles3
Pistols4
Melee2
Launcher1

Example: say there's ten weapons in the AR category, you can skip four weapons and still obtain Forged for six ARs to go to the Priceless requirement.

I've consistently played Shipment 24/7, Search & Destroy, War, Small Map Moshpit, Free for All and OG Moshpit. for this journey. I've played other game modes to help with the monotomy. I won't go over every challenge or provide extensive details on weapon builds; it'll be a general rundown on basic strategy and highlights on easy/hard challenges.

Firstly, leveling up the damn guns to fulfill those pesky camo prerequisites. Leveling up weapons is similar to leveling yourself up. Kills, captures, assists, etc. grants you player and weapon XP. Any XP gained with your equipped weapon will carry over to that weapon. (Ex., 1000XP for planting the bomb in S&D will apply to your equipped weapon level.)

Initially, I would have decoy grenades in my tactical slot and throw them in Shipment for the small XP gains. The map is small, so enemies will be "distracted" by running into the decoys through choke points. Then, I remembered that Search & Destroy multiplies your XP gains, which will drastically help with streamlining the process. You have one life per round, so I would have to make each round count anyway I can. For guns I'm not good at, I would push to plant, defuse or hope for an assist.

Once you unlock the level camo requirement, your progress towards the challenge would be allocated AFTER it's unlocked. Each weapon class has their own set of challenges that are similar to one another. Kills while ADS, headshots, while sliding, in tac stance, longshots, kills affected by tactical, etc. Each class has its own set of base challenges universal for their weapons (e.g., ARs involve 50 kills, 50 ADS, 15 headshots, 25 tac-stance kills, 3 kills with one magazine.)

If I played it smart with the level cap, I would have some criteria completed for the base camo if the challenges are able to be completed in succession. With that, it's just a matter of obtaining the Gilden camo.

Three challenges in particular were ultimate endurance tests for me on account of the map design and stat tracking. Longshots, penetration kills and X kills affected by tactical equipment.

Shipment 24/7 does have the opportunity for longshots, but it's inconsistent since Shipment IS a small map. Through experience, I learned that a "longshot" kill can vary between weapon classes. The average range is 38 meters, but pistols, SMGs, shotguns have a shorter criteria. I generally play with assualt rifles, so I would have to go to War, OG Moshpit or Hardcore for those challenges. MWIII does not always have great sight lines with its base maps. Back up as far as you can and use single shot/semi auto for maximum accuracy.

Penetration kills were the worst. Again, MWIII's base maps are inconsistent with having shootable terrain. Penetration kills count when your UI marker would say "Wall Bang." You could shoot through doors, sheet metal, wire fences, and some props. Sometimes, a prop would be vulnerable to gunfire if you could catch an enemy behind cover. I think there's a drop off with damage through penetration with some guns.

I found that the OG Moshpit (MW2 maps remade for MWII/MWIII) have ample opportunity for penetration kills. Scrapyard, in particular, has the perfect layout for penetration kills. One of the warehouses on either side of the map has a chain link fence that you could shoot from with a great sight line through either entrance. But, you'd have to have a bit of distance between the fence for it to count. If you're up close to the fence, it won't count. If it's an objective mode like Hardpoint or Domination on Scrapyard, you could farm wall bang kills since they'll be concentrated in one area.

Now, we have X kills affected by tactical equipment. SMGs love this challenge. Flash and stun grenades count, not decoys, tear gas or smoke from my experience. The middle choke point in Shipment helped tremendously, espeically for Domination and Hardpoint. However, you'd have to obtain the kill as soon as they're stunned/flashed. That's about a 1-2 second window if the hitmarker confirmed a hit. The blessing and curse with Shipment is that it's too small. I cannot count the amount of times I missed the window, get killed from all angles, or be one bullet shy of a kill.

Thermal optics helped me with headshots as I could identify the head with these wacky skins from a distance. Hipfire works too for SMGs and Shotguns. Obtaining X kills with one magazine, equip the largest magazine possible and camp on Shipment. Either between the containers or around the corners and hope for easy spawns. Alternatively, running and gunning in Free-For-All has helped me a couple times.

Lastly, (for now,) Marksman rifles are horrible. I don't know why but the first bullet doesn't always hit their target. I would have them in my sights and every OTHER bullet would miss. Iron sight, laser, or red dot sight did not matter. I find that contradictory of their intended purpose of "marksman." So, Hardcore and War would help me. All in all, the Interstallar camouflage journey did help motivate me to get the most out of MWIII. Maybe I'll grind for MWII's Orion camo since the challenges are similar.

If you have questions or comments, please feel free to ask. I spent an autistically long amount of time writing this piece and getting the damn camo.

Why was MWII despised? Other than the UI and the high standard placed on it for it being a reboot of MW2 from 2009?

I like how Blackout prestige emblems look like military patches. You could wear them on a military jacket and people would think nothing of it.

Bad maps, bad weapon balance, more ugly and obnoxious cosmetics, brain dead UI, and an obvious downgrade from MW2019 e.g. no nightvision mode.

Oh, I loved the Realism mode in MW2019.

MWII weapons are in MWIII. Maybe I'll grind for MWII's Orion camo but there's more weapons to grind compared to MWIII. I don't know if they're ALL balanced for MWIII's TTK.

It just keeps jumping the shark.
$90, please. Ridiculous.

You know the clocks in the spawn room of the "Five" zombie map? The clocks are in real time (provided you're connected to the Internet, but that should go without saying.) It was 1:57 PM EST when I played; the New York clock showed 1:57 PM. That's a nice detail.

I know that I'm going to get bitched at for being "late" or whatever but I haven't played Call of Duty since its prime years and finally got around to trying the latest one. I had a hard time playing it because the skins make it very distracting and ruins any immersion. It's hard to take a military game seriously with Squid Game, Terminator, and now Ninja Turtles skins or whatever. I thought Gears 5 was bad enough a few years ago with the Terminator skins and gay pride flags. The gameplay seems OK but tired, like I played this same exact shit years ago except with better design. The single player was also weird and not very fun with its science fiction/zombies crap and too many boring, slow-paced sections.

I tried it for free (yes, it was free because I had a free trial) on Game Pass but would be pissed if I actually paid $70 for this crap. Maybe it wasn't actually free though because I wasted time on it that I could have spent doing something else more fun. Like shitposting on this forum.

Don't worry, COD is at the lowest point it has ever been now, even worse than during Veilguard(2021) or Black Ops 4 years(2018). Even the biggest fans are griefing the franchise and only open shills or biggest cocksuckers are left. Remember the good times, if you want you can try to play the older titles using third party clients on PC. Playerbase is still active, even in games like COD 1 and COD 2. Just remember that playing without third party software is a bad idea, your computer or steam account could get compromised and god knows how console servers look like by this point. Last I played BO2 on my Xbox the game was hacked so that the game turned into some Fortnite hybrid where hackers were building "bridges" out of Care Package crates in the mid-air, I left and didn't look back so that my double-master prestige bandaid account wouldn't get de-leveled.

There's something about Black Ops 6 that deters me from playing it anymore, even with the limited time events regarding weapons and perks. The honeymoon phase with this game is ruined.
