Gay goyckos with their tails lopped off.only if ur target demographic is trannies
Giggleland is weird because yes the ad is the most obvious thing ever, yet just beneath its surface is one of the most well-put-together alternate reality games in what feels like a decade about a commune related to the theme park, and there is genuinely a ton of effort put into it and no weird troon elements to speak of… yet, anyway.tHere's so much themepark based mascot horror these days.
I remember seeing a trailer for one called "Giggleland" that tries to be coy but everyone clocked it immediately.
go woke go broke doesnt always apply if wer'e talking indie devs*the furries

u don't play mascot horror games for the gameplayGiggleland is weird because yes the ad is the most obvious thing ever, yet just beneath its surface is one of the most well-put-together alternate reality games in what feels like a decade about a commune related to the theme park, and there is genuinely a ton of effort put into it and no weird troon elements to speak of… yet, anyway.
It feels incongruous with the generic mascot slop of the actual game itself.

Are they doing the MrEnter thing where they explain all of the super deep themes and concepts in the Kickstarter pitch? If Piñata Puppy World is about exploring the "complex emotions tied to nostalgic depression," why does it include liminal spaces and cartoon animals as selling points, especially when it's trying to deliver a "deeper, more nuanced" experience?
I would believe this to be "gay as in joyous, cheery" if the design were actually old-timey. But it's just... modern furry. Part of why FNAF became successful in the first place was because the animatronics looked the part, and because of the uncanny look of the models. They looked like animatronics, not literal furries. Not even fursuits.
I think premise matters a lot less than execution, and Giggleland at least seems like it knows what it's doing, despite the hokey ARG elements. It's good, self-reinforcing marketing these days. "What if a portal to hell opened on Phobos and you had to shoot it?" is also not a good premise by itself, yet it spawned a game good enough to be emulated for decades. It's window dressing for the actual game, and while window dressing matters a lot more for this genre, it's still all about execution. A horror game is nothing if it's not scary.
Retro no, indie horror slop (for troons) yes. Another chapter for “The fnaf revolution and it’s consequences“

They're also blatant about it but something that is very noticeable about these clones is that they want the FANDOM of FNAF (you know who these people are) but not the feel and drive that made FNAF what it was. The clearly want a certain type of person to care about these characters where as when i look at Kandyland they're at least trying to make something interesting and not attract the Tumblr/Twitter crowd that likes drawing weird art of the robot characters.
The two themes are very conflicting, and it’s not clear how they match up yet, and I’m genuinely wondering if they will at all.View attachment 6981578

"What if an innocent theme park was evil and scary?" is not a good premise.
UPDATE: The game is called Turnip Boy Robs a Bank. There's another example I was going to post about, but for the life of me I can't remember the title of the game. Some months ago I saw an ad for a game that had this onion mascot thing finding something like a rock that said "Trans rights!" with the trans flag and all. I looked at the game page some time after and it seemed to be mostly Stardew Valley-esque, but showed nothing political at all. It wasn't an unpopular game either, I saw it on the front page of Steam at one point. I wish I could remember what it was, because it felt nefarious with more cutesy graphics you'd see in a kids game (like what I took Celeste for). Does anyone here know what game I'm talking about?
Fun fact about the dude who made it he's brasilian and an entire "woke" mob went after him even though he in their eyes is a minority.I remember there being a woke list site, but last I checked on it, it mostly covered triple A titles.
This game is a sequel of a game called "Turnip Boy Commits Taux Fraud" which is just harping those shitty "x character is committing tax fraud" memes, as well as being a quintessential example of millennial humor (capitalism bad jokes, characters being heckin lesbians, killing god at the end because "omg its just like an rpg", shitty "deep" lore about the vegetables being mutants in a post apocalyptic world, if you saw a troon making a tweet about it on 2019, you will see it referenced)UPDATE: The game is called Turnip Boy Robs a Bank.

(This is even less subtle than I remember it being.)
Apparently this is supposed to be an Easter egg so there wouldn't be any mention on the Steam Page. This is apparently a sequel to Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion. (I thought both games were the same at first.)
I think I eventually need a list indie games with trans stuff inserted/made by trans devs specifically. I remember there being a woke list site, but last I checked on it, it mostly covered triple A titles.
This site is... much larger than the last time I had checked on it. If they did go after him, the site still seems to still be doing well so far.Fun fact about the dude who made it he's brasilian and an entire "woke" mob went after him even though he in their eyes is a minority.
Honestly go for it, I'd follow it since I don't have the time to catalog every single game with tranny slopaganda myself.
