The next Avatar show's been officially announced and the leaks were 100% accurate. Please be excited for post-apocalyptic wasteland Avatar.

I just heard about this, but Canadian animation studio Nelvana is about to shut down. They're currently producing All Engines Go, so it's speculated that All Engines Go (and possibly with it, the Thomas toyline in general) will be cancelled. They're also making the new Barney show, so that could be cancelled as well.
They were also working with Duncan Studio (the guys who made the 2D segments in Mary Poppins Returns, among other things) on a set of "high-quality animated features"

lol Korra is dead.

That’s the only real positive here.
And again she was apparently so bad at her job as avatar that it plunged the once 1920s/steampunk era world of avatar into a post apocalyptic wasteland. I know this was done so the show could have an in universe reason to go back to a more "ancient " and less technologically advanced setting closer to the ancient china/japan/indonesia/arctic/antarctic Eskimo world of the original series but they actually ended up tanking Korra's already botched reputation and essentially made her the Canon "worst avatar in history"

Couldn't they just have said that the entirety of Korra never happened, apologized for fumbling the ball badly (to be fair didn’t Nick keep jerking them around with how many seasons they got?) and just say we will do better this time. When your main character is just the worst is there really any shame in Thanos Snapping it into oblivion? At the very least some mea culpa will at least make some people willing to give it a shot. Granted leaked material already tells me this will likely suck beyond belief, but still.

Yeah, but this is funnier.

My father and I bonded over Avatar due to the late Mako Iwamatsu being a key player in the series M*A*S*H, and so I showed Avatar to him. He was blown away. Loved it as much as I did. He actually teared up when he saw Mako's memorial picture in the Ba Sing Sei episode. This just....hurts now. No anger, just emptiness and pain.

Imagine being so bad at your job that in just one generation the people that used to venerate your position in an almost messiah fashion now see it as the mark of the beast. :story:
Not only that, that girl now only has fucking Korra to go to for guidance. I swear most of it will just be her asking for advice and then doing the opposite of what she’s told.

Hey, if the avatar is supposed to be the bridge between the spirit world and the material world, didn’t Korra put herself and all other Avatars out of a job by opening three portals to the spirit world?

The connection is broken either way, so I guess human spirits are vastly different from other spirits. You're not going to see Roku walking about or anything.

I swear to god EVERY cartoon since 2020 that's made it past a single season has just been a passionless rehash of a better one.

They're coping on Twitter that somebody framed her, but based on her competence in her own series, I'm not really hard pressed to believe Korra just fucked it up THAT bad.

And remember, you gotta deal with it.

It literally is just because its cheaper. "Anime style" is just code for less frames of animation, slant-eye slave labor, and being off model half the time.

It's also because it's easier on the eyes, compared to other actual cost-cutting designs like the Flash character designs FreshTV used for their cartoons, i.e. 6Teen and Total Drama. And while Total Drama's character designs were divisive in terms of liking them or not, at least it was still distinct compared to CalArts garbage, and their silhouettes and color choices made them easy to distinguish one character from another.

They also worked on 6Teen too, Nelvana will be missed indeed.

All I know is that E;R is going to have a field day with yet again. Though, I’m not sure the bants he has will sting as three times he did when he kept mocking the Legend of Korra for just being the Legend of Korra.
