Not gonna work this time. It was a conservative group that released the videos (or I should say promoted because they were all out there anyway). And it was CPAC that cut him off. And good luck trying to claim CPAC is somehow a bunch of SJWs.
Milo's whole "deflect left" strategy has no meaning here.

Most people who see Milo know he's full of shit and clearly some sort of sociopath. Thing is he gets the liberal tears his idiot followers all crave. If you think he's an idiot you're not his audience. His audience is people who basically want a token gay friend who tells them it's okay to hate gay people and minorities and who treat politics as a meaningless sports game (your team vs mine).

As for why people keep falling for his trolling schtick, a lot of the people he's trolling don't know him well enough to see what he's doing. But even then, if you watch that Bill Maher interview you realize how hard it has got to be to remain patient with this idiot in person. If you care about things, anything at all, and talk to a guy like Milo (who legitimately cares about nothing and who in fact makes fun of you for caring), getting angry is sort of a natural result. Which he knows and counts on.

Regardless of your feelings on Milo, I sincerely doubt this will kill his career. The people who are foaming at the mouth right now already hated his guts and wanted him to go away, and his fans aren't going to care about priestfucking if he keeps calling feminists fat and pointing out that muslim terrorists blow stuff up.

Also don't forget that feeding on all this negative attention is how he fucking made a name for himself to start with. He has taken a hit, yes, but it's just a matter of time until he either damage-controls his way out of it, or even turns it a into positive thing for his (already controversial) career.

He's always going to have an audience, but after this he's going to be blacklisted from the conservative mainstream and I doubt he's going to start getting invited on to talk shows and getting book deals and shit like he has for the past few months. Keep in mind Milo managed to weasel his way into something resembling a position of influence amongst American conservatives. Hence he was a keynote speaker at CPAC. That's gone.

The issue is one cannot defend his statements. 15 is pedophilia plain and simple, until otherwise stated. One cannot defend it as "other countries do it" or "15 isn't a child" until the country he made the statement in says otherwise.

A lot of people have compared Milo to being the new Ernst Rohm (another gay guy who was an early backer of rightwing fascism in Germany) and predicted that Milo would also end up also getting "purged" just like Rohm did as soon as the people he backed got into power.
Not exactly a "Night of the Long Knives" sort of downfall, but the people he backed DID get into power, and now the Useful Idiot is no longer useful. How much longer will it be before they purge Trump as well and let Mike "Handmaid's Tale" Pence take over, which pretty much seems to have been the Dominionist/Koch endgame all along?

Yeah, but I really don't think that matters in the grand scheme of things. Not to him personally and not to his bank account. His book is titled "Dangerous", and I doubt a shitstorm of controversy around him is going to make fewer people curious about reading it.

This is a lane-change, not a car crash.

It's twitter. The only way for him not to direct people to Leslie Jones is to not mention her at all.

CPAC is a big deal to republicans. At least the ones who matter. That's where all the party activists and big names get together and rub shoulders every year. If you impress people at CPAC you can expect some funding or other opportunities to head your way. At the very least get a bigger platform. Milo might be getting fired from Breitbart also, which recently has probably been his biggest outlet and the one that got him the most attention. I don't know how his publisher is reacting but they might not want to be associated with this shit either. Money might be money, but branding's important also for those people.

Nobody took Milo seriously in the UK. In the US, a country totally lacking in any understanding of irony, he found a niche. Now it's being closed.

Milo needed to have studied other shock jocks more. Being the type of persona he was is a tightrope you need to navigate, too calm and people stop caring, too outrageous and you offend the people paying your bills. Remember Don Imus? One retarded pilthy remark that didn't even matter was enough to ruin him, for awhile anyway.

Hopefully the next guy will take notes on this if Milo truly did fall off that metaphorical rope.
