While a massive chunk of their response is just "Elon Man Did It, Therefore It Bad", another significant chunk is that if this is an ongoing thing it ends the most disgusting practice they do on an individual and systemic level.
The number of them who decide to just not work for up to a -month at a time- and still get -paid- is frankly disgusting.
Now, I am not talking about duley awarded vacation hours. No, I am talking "Joe didnt come in to work today, or anytime in the last month, but we logged him as here. Oh well, must have been a mental health break".
It is shockingly common.
I've been thumbing through the fednews and other reddits. It's mostly to confirm my own biases, to be fair, but the stuff they are putting out is confirming the feel I've gotten for years from the fedboys.
They genuinely feel they're entitled to their paychecks, their jobs, their careers. And they feel their coworkers are all similarly entitled to THEIR paychecks/jobs/careers. To their lives as the New American Nobility. It's an amazing thing to watch. They are so entrenched in their epistemic closure that they literally can't even grasp that outsiders might look unkindly at them. That these things they are freaking out about now are things every other human on the planet has to worry about every single day.
Layoffs? Risking being
fired? Being expected to show up to the office every single day and
provide some benefit to the organization? None of that should apply to them. They provide benefit
just for existing. They are the beautiful ones, and them gracing us with their presence is benefit enough.
They do not, on a fundamental level, see themselves as being the same caste of people as the rest of us. It's like reading a fantasy novel and suddenly seeing people have to deal with the entitled firstborn son of a Duke or something.

tl;dr: The email caste are those who can do their jobs by email. They could vanish off the face of the world for 6 months before we would ever even notice they were gone. Your lawyers, your gender studies professors, your lobbyists, your journalists, et cetera. The Forgotten Caste are the rest of us, the people who have basically forgotten they have political power because they entrusted the Email caste to run things while they kept things running. Your Pilots, your Truck Drivers, your Retail Workers. People who if they fell off the face of the world for 6
hours would cause civilization as we know it to end. (To wit: Truckers stop bringing food to New York City, by 6 days you'd have food riots which would spark race wars that would NEVER end. They would literally mobilize the national guard to drive trucks to break the strike if they had to.)
2020 was the Email Caste using every bit of hard and soft power they had to defeat MAGA, which they correctly saw as Trump tapping into the Forgotten Caste. They won the battle, but lost the war, as the Forgotten caste has woken up. "Fuck Joe Biden" and all that.
"It occurs to us that you are completely reliant on us to feed yourselves. Would you like to talk again about how our beliefs in how things should be ran don't matter and we should go away and stop bothering you before you have us arrested and our kids taken away?"
We've seen since then that this is only continuing to simmer. The email caste has had massive layoffs -- your tiktok tech girlies playing in adult day cares for $300,000 a year are getting laid off en mass, and there are no jobs for them to jump to. The forgotten caste voted Trump back into power with a red wave that no one expected. A history redefining win. And now Trump is taking a bonesaw to the email caste, tearing out illicit funding and email caste jobs programs like DEI at it's roots.
But there's another caste. One that was supposed to be beyond the petty squabbles of the email caste and the forgotten caste. The American Nobility. The Fedboy. A parasite caste feeding off the email caste and the forgotten caste. Nothing we were supposed to do out here in the shadow of their ivory towers were meant to affect them. It was unthinkable that the plebians could cause any disruption in their lives.
They even arranged it so the President couldn't communicate with everyone without going through a legion of 40,000+ HR workers to subvert, pervert, and prevent anything he wanted to communicate.
And faced with the mere idea that Trump might force them out of the ivory towers to face the reality that mere mortals have to deal with every day... they're having quite a glorious meltdown.
