$1 bills pass through far more hands in circulation on a daily basis than $100 bills so it's considered pretty ratchet to snort with a $1 bill vs a $100 bill because the 1's will hypothetically be so much dirtier than the 100's. Of course if you have a whole set up rather than a spontaneous thing there's no good reason to be using a $100 bill when you could be using a brand new straw if you're concerned about germs.
