His design. Is straight ass. Nothing too good to say that is likeable. Good job Viv him wearing a suit works for the time period, cool stick thing I suppose. Deer..? He looks like a fox or a edgy jackelope. Also holy shit he's fucking mixed WHAT? As a mulatto myself that niggas not mixed he's fucking ashy, and that hair is he a white woman and that haircut would not be in that timeperiod.

New

Made him look like a deer. And added in tons of body horror which I am quite fond of. He is skinned on his neck with hooks in his feet, his face is warped, and his human face is outstretched to resemble with deer ears and crooked deer human.
Kept attributes of his human form.
Changed his color scheme to represent the old timey photos color scheme of brown monochromatic.
His neck is long and outstretched, huge horns.
Green eyes for when deer are seen in night vision.
Gave him a hairstyle for the timeperiod he belongs in.
Made him lankier and more gauntlet.
Wendigo refrences, and when he takes his suit off his entire chest is skinless and exposed.
Gave him a little tail.

Story wise

Still an overlord cannibal.

When Charlie announces the hotel to the public. He catches it, and is perpexed seeing that shes a child. He gets the idea she would be easier to manipulate and gain more power from consuming her/stealing her soul.

He does strike a deal with Charlie to help fund her project and help her in exchange for her soul. Charlie tells him she doesn't have one, and Alastor assumes she's lying (she is the devil's daughter afterall) she then proposes a pinky promise, if the hotel doesn't redeem a single soul within 7 years he can have her power, and if it does work he will spend the rest of his afterlife helping Charlie redeem every soul in hell.

Vaggie thinks this is a horrible idea, but Charlie being so naive and innocent thinks he is a man of his word. She is completely confident that she can get one soul to be redeemed.

He gladly takes this deal, and plans to jeopardize the hotel. Now he's playing the waiting game. Bringing his most disastrous servants (Husk and Nifty) he thinks they would be great, as they would worsens the healing process (Nifty encourages murder/ and temptation, Husk gambling/addiction) he tells them both that they have to keep patreons sinning.

And promises that if they succeed he would set them free. He is of course lying.

Alastor does his best to be a wrench in the machine, all while pretending to be sweet and gentle to the young princess. Thinking that if he feeds her delusions she won't know that he's messing with her.

He protects her from the exterminations, as if she dies he'll lose his ultimate meal ticket. This reinforces Charlie thinking he's a good person as he's "protecting" her and the hotel patreons (he's only doing it to keep up the guise that he believes in her idea)

Hopes that if he gets her power he'll be able to take on Lucifer, free of his shackles that keep him in hell, and be able to get to heaven. Once he consumes every soul he would be all powerful. And wants to become God himself.

His mic staff reminds me of that one thing featured with Pilot Alastor but not Series Alastor: the mic is sentient itself. I think one fan theory had the mic be another soul he owns or it was mentioned on a Vivzie stream. Perhaps your Alastor could use it manipulate others.

If she didn't want us to ship them she wouldn't have given them more chemistry than the actual couple and given Charlie extreme daddy issues that she can fix by taking a ride on the deer /shot

The only one possibly negative thing that I can say about the new takes of Charlie and Alastor is that you lose the whole Charlastor dynamic. While I myself didn't really ship the two, I did like the dynamic the two had, especially from the pilot. They have a lot of natural chemistry with each other as both give off showman-entertainer vibes.

Not everything has to be shipping fuel. I mean Alastors Ace and she's Bi. People can just enjoy it as a story, instead of lowest common denominator gooner bait. Charlie redo already looks like a child's doll, and Alastors just straight evil like he's been "shown" to be.

I would still add a dancing scene in there to add to the princess magic, and that he's a preformer putting a show on for her. That would be pretty cute kinda "wholesome". It would add to a father dynamic in a way, as he'd be luring her in.

Since we are sharing our grievances with the way series Charlie is portrayed, I want to share a pet peeve of mine:
For some reason and we can see it in your pics, they decided to give her some kind of bags under her eyes and I absolutely hate it.

They're such a minor detail and she doesn't have them all the time but I found it such a unnecessary detail, though I will admit that there's moments where it adds to her expression.

Actually, seeing you pic and comparing with these 2 I think my main problem is that it always makes her look scared even in scenes where she's not supposed to show that emotion.

Curiously I wanted to compare to pilot Charlie and I found out that she also has bags in certain scenes.

But notice how much softer they are compared to the official show.

Series Charlie is honestly just decent, she isn't bad or anything but she really misses out on some of the spunk the pilot had and I feel that's probably because the actual series is more limited with its animation compared to the Pilot where it felt more free to do crazier things.

To be fair, my problem with most Viv designs are that, she rely's on double meaning then just making a simple design.

For example Vox being a TV and a fish/shark demon, even if it makes scene it would have been simpler if he was just a TV, or Alastor, he's barley a radio demon and more of a wendigo.

It was obvious from the beginning that the pilot's animation was going to be pared down and cleaned up a lot if the series ever got picked up, and some of the fun visuals were never going to be in a modern animated series due to budget constraints. I think it is more due to the nature of it being picked up by Amazon. Since Amazon would probably cheap out and the animation studio that does a lot of the work for Hazbin's series is the same that does Bob's Burgers. Which Hazbin Hotel is not poorly animated, but I feel it would have more potential if it had the same treatment Helluva Boss has since that show has better animation.

In other words, if Vivzie did not want to do Helluva Boss, Hazbin would have probably been a webshow.

So really....

Forgive me, but I like this guys content. I love Blackisssh. Personally I find him funny, dudes unironically makes Viv's stuffs better in the review.

Like his little bit on the rape scene making the cringe Raph comic dialog changing it to talking to his audience. The video is a thousand times funnier than Viv's works. And his review on Mike and Melissa is funny as well, Mike and Melissa is such a great YouTube video. I watch it and my friends watch it every so often.

It's kinda of funny if Viv showed this shit (HB/HH) to a classroom do you think she'd cringe too? That all her teachers would be the naysayers like Mike portrayed in the animation about his professor?

I already watched his video on how awful Helluva Boss is, and I loved it. Sometimes it’s just fun listening to a dude ramble unscripted about shit.

Something something ace people can also date which...never made sense to me but whatever. Anyway what I meant was, for me personally, it was less about their supposed possible romance, and more on the fact that they were very similar to each other even with their differing word views. Not only is this shown in the pilot, but you also see it being portrayed in merch when it's the two of them or they are in the same line. It's more of a shame that we didn't get that portrayel in the actual show itself.

It's because the Amazon show's animation is more crisp and stiff, while the pilot's animation is softer and more fluid. The pilot's faces would sometimes add lines around the eyes and mouth to show expression on a character, but usually to show an extreme emotion. In the actual show, the characters can't naturally be as exaggerative so they have to rely on the extra lines to show any emotion on a character.

Some low effort sketches of the two, I think Alastor would be a tap dancer. I know radio shows would have tap dancing on air (which is sort of funny) since he has hooves it would be cool.

Sort of how I think they'd interact, I still think this pairing would be great. Not shipping material but they're dynamic would be interesting and bittersweet. Charlie thinking someone actually cares about her and her idea, all while Alastor smiles and nods pretending all along the way. Makes the betrayal hit more for her. Getting betrayed twice would hurt and have her grow more.
