I almost view both the Depp and Rittenhouse cases as IQ litmus tests to distinguish between drooling retards who just believe whatever libtards on TV say and people who actually can look at facts. That's not entirely true. If you lose a 1983 suit (or any other suit but 1983 is a pretty copious fount of Rule 11 practice by the state) and the government is awarded attorney fees, they get the same quantum meruit analysis as private practice lawyers. Of course, the attorneys themselves don't get this, they've already been paid (unless for some reason they contracted it out to a private firm).

I'd assume it's true in this case, though.
