First time I’m unsure what Trump’s play is. He knows many of the pardons weren’t signed or even read by Biden. So is he trying to prosecute to get more about his enemies out in the public, seek justice, distract so he can focus on illegals and cutting off usaid like projects? Or a combination of all of these?

Like with Canada being called a state it’s more about distraction and leverage in trade. The gold card is about optics in showing what it truly costs to bring in dead weight and support them. This is the first time im not sure how this will play out and I’m excited. My gut tells me undoing any specific pardon isn’t the play, but it’ll be like doge. Show the most egregious pardons one by one and have Biden answer if he did that. Start with cash for kids guy. Then see how it plays out.
They don’t want any one digging deeper into the 8,000 (a new world record) pardons by Biden, just like they don’t want anyone mentioning the 14 million votes that up and vanished this election cycle.

What does this have to do with anything? I've never been a registered Dem voter, nor have I ever supported lefty causes. I don't even like either actual "option" in America because they're both the same at the end of the day. Not going to fool myself into thinking I'm making a difference by playing around with a pick your poison ritual every four years regardless of tribalist NPCs from either side shrieking about people not voting. - Moloch or Baal, it's the same result either way.
You were responding to this:
And yep, here it comes.. The life long MAGA friend that sees the light and is now a raging lefty Democrat. Just like we saw on here a bit ago.

I don't give a shit if you vote or not, but assuming any legitimacy in this obviously fake post is retarded.

He's forcing the Dem's to publicly defend these shady as fuck pardons. While at the same time putting the s[spotlight on what they actually did with regards to Covid and the Jan 6 riots, that required that they be "pardoned". It's effectively a No Lose situation for Trump. What's the worst case? That he forces the Supreme Court to weigh in on at a minimum the processes and procedures surrounding Presidential Pardons? To voice an opinion on "Presumptive Pardons" without an underlying defined crime? To shine more light on just how mentally unfit Biden was and force the issue of "who was really in charge during the Biden Presidency" out into the open?

We use the phrase 4d chess a lot. Without it having any actual meaning. But this? This is an actual master chess move. At a worst case the Courts uphold the Biden Pardons. But the people now know exactly what they did to warrant them.

Didn’t stop Eisenhower.
Eisenhower had a lot more political freedom on what he could use the military for than most Presidents after him. That's like saying "Man I sure do wish Trump would arrest a state legislature for not voting the way he wants like Lincoln did" ignoring that Lincoln was able to do so because of circumstances Trump doesn't have.

It fulfills a few purposes.

Firstly it's part of the usual late-weekend media blitzkrieg that will have the entire media machine tripping over each other first thing Monday morning to break the story to the general public (winding them up on their own free time when they should be relaxing), the public themselves will be frothing at the mouth over these wackier weekend issues first thing come Monday, and probably stay talking about it all week having missed other, smaller changes and announcements in policy during their working hours through the rest of the week.

Secondly, probably more importantly, it forces the dems and their pocket judges to pick a hill to die on; even if Biden hadn't signed his EO's and pardons and an aide was doing it, how do we handle it going forward? If the dem judges come out to say that what Biden's aide did was legit, then that invites any future administrations to do the same thing. If they say 'no, that's absolutely not allowed' then any future administration can throw that back in their faces the next time they try to pull this bullshit. It's not about repealing any sort of EO's or pardons, it's about putting the dems into a corner and making them pick a position on the matter so that the rules of engagement going forward are plain and clear.

I think the 4d chess is real to some extent but I think you're giving Trump way too much credit for this one. It's a stupid move no matter how you cut it and Dems aren't going to suddenly realize their pardons are immoral—they already knew that. They're going to attack Trump for going after the Constitution, which he quite literally is this time around.

Even in the event that Biden was this rotting corpse who had no idea what he signed, there's no way you can convince me that he didn't agree with these pardons.

assuming any legitimacy in this obviously fake post is retarded.
Even if it's fake, it reminds me of how people in America can be over politics - I've seen plenty of people leave the GOP, become Democrats, and believe the exact opposite of every last talking point they used to support and double down in doing so. Even if the Democratic Underground post is fake, situations like that actually do happen irl. Like just throw out the baby with the bathwater instead of looking into other branches of right wing politics.

But if the pardons were issued without Biden's knowing or approval then they are pretty much a forgery. The President has the power of pardon, not random staffers with an autopen.
All they need to do is to get Biden to announce that he did have those pardons signed under his authority and the entire case disappears. How much money do you think Biden would take to do so? We all know he takes bribes.

Zero chance this actually holds up. The president has the power to issue unconditional pardons. Using an electric pen instead of his hand to make the signature makes no difference. Sorry to anybody who wants to see fauci in prison, but remember that whatever power you give to your side, it will be used by the other side when the pendulum swings in that direction
I think you are right. It will get squashed in the first day it hits the courts. But until then, the prosecutors have an excuse to investigate, collect evidence, announce what facts they have found to the public, submit charging documents to the court.

This will be a media circus that nobody can help rubbernecking.

As they say, sometimes the process is the punishment.

Win or lose, Trump wins.

If the president can just do things, or things can just be done his name, then what makes Trump different from Biden?
Trump understands one thing.
His enemies will do the opposite of whatever he does. Therefore, he can manipulate them into any position he wants. The problem is how do you "seal the deal".
God Emperor of Dune is all about this. Once you have unquestionable power and prescience, how do you convince the midwits you are right and should be followed?
Give them a lesson their bones will remember.
