Yeah, but it takes an special kind of retard to consistently lose in this series. But the anime kind of had their own set of rules, though Like the fight against that Onix
Pikachu didn't shock the Onix, he set off the fire sprinkers which ONLY Brock seemed to have installed in his gym. The Cerulean gym I understand, but come on now, why the fuck didn't the Celedon gym?

Ash, like most of his early gym battles, fucking cheated. At least he didn't rely on Team Rocket to fuck things up for him the first time around.

In Ash's battle against Brock, Pikachu defeated Onix using an electric-type move, likely due to the move Soak existing in the games, which can make a Pokémon vulnerable to electric attacks.

Additionally, in the anime, Brock's Onix was defeated by Steelix's Crunch move when it was revealed that Onix was wearing a disguise.
Fucking lmao.

To be fair, Ash withdrew his challenge under the circumstances. IIRC Brock gave him the Boulder badge anyway.
So what you're saying is that Brock is the reason Ash was so shit in Kanto?

It wasn't until Brock was out of the party in the Orange Islands that he started seeing actual success so that tracks.

Weren't the Cooler monkeys beginner's trap because their awful stats?
I love those dumb monkeys (except Simisage that evo was ugly) but their stats and movepool were both shit on top of being stone evos so they don't learn new moves when they level up when you evolve them. In addition to being the obvious gym solution their design may in part be because of Gamefreak's belief that early pokemon should be more replaceable, similar to earlier gen bugs having low level evolutions but being fairly bad after early game objectively speaking. This came after your rivals told you to catch Patrats and Lilipups for the hell of it too, no one was gonna use all of those early 'mons if it's their first playthough may've been the idea. Probably why they gave you the evo stone in Castellia: so you'd evolve it then swap it out because it stopped learning new moves and it gets outclassed by other pokemon you could be catching.

I took mine all the way thru to the end of the game as my premier, overleveled water Pokemon, then was disappointed it did jack shit in online battles and competitive. I hate the philosophy that some Pokemon are just straight up meant to be useless just because they're found early on, I much prefer something like Magikarp where it's a pain in the ass to raise or Feebas that is a pain in the ass to even find, but when evolved both kick some serious ass.

Yeah, but it also raises the question of what would happen during a battle in the rain. Since that's almost the same thing as being drenched by a fire sprinkler (ok, it isn't, but after an certain point you'll still be wet)

Honestly, this is what saved the anime: Team Rocket mindlessly fucking around with freezing a volcano and finding out what happens next

Rain doesn't do any damage, Onix would be fine. Could actually help in limited circumstances if Onix is fighting a fire type.

Team Rocket is why Pokemon is a Saturday morning cartoon, not just an anime.

They have similar stats to starter Pokemon but lack the second evo. That means that they're fine for the base game, but absolute garbage in competitive, which most people don't bother with. Shame, as I actually like their designs(their beta designs even more).
I mean...

So apparently Japanese packs of the rocket set have been circulating and people are asking $200+ for them. That’s more than twice what even battle partners and terastal festival were going for in the west. I feel like this is a good enough sign to dip out from collecting on top of the one LGS that has POP deciding to not bother since people are pestering them for the POP packs and prize support without actually having to play.
I haven't seen anything regarding Japanese packs being circulated but I have seen pre-order prices for the boxes going around that price, the problem is that neither Creatures Inc. or TPCi can keep up with the demand for the game nor does the latter feel any need to curb the usage of bots from its site.

That said English packs of Destined Rivals (our equivalent to Japan's TR set and Heat Wave Arena) have been leaking, there's even a pic of one of the set's Illustration Rares.

You can make almost anything work if you put enough autists together. That's the fun of Pokemon, or at least it was back when every Pokemon and move was available. I've had competitive success with surprising Pokemon that I can guarantee aren't available anymore in the newer games or their sets are no longer available.

I hope nobody here is stupid enough to believe that Champions is going to undo dexcut. Please. I'm so sick and tired of retards elsewhere insisting that it's totally going to have every Pokémon ever in it and it's going to include Dynamax and Z-moves and all the junk Gamefreak removed because they're lazy pieces of shit.

It's embarrassing that people are still that optimistic given how fucking long this series has been awful for (at least Sonic's fanbase can admit that the games have been ass for decades instead of gaslighting themselves into thinking every new project is "the one" that'll fix everything and bring about a new golden age despite all evidence to the contrary), and the fact that they're talking about a goddamn Gamefreak-made mobile game, but it's even stupider when the REVEAL TRAILER already shut this shit down.

If anyone with a pair of eyes waited until the end of this trailer to freak out, they would have noticed that Champions still has the dexcut and there are no plans to change it. They explicitly clarify this for several seconds at the end in big white letters. And yet, I've seen utter retards insisting that not only will Champions have the national dex, it'll also have irrelevant, mostly hated gimmicks like Dynamax and Z-moves just because they showed Mega and Tera. As if they didn't only show Tera and Mega to be relevant to the current generation.

It's so frustrating. With every passing year, the people who enjoy this franchise just get dumber and dumber. I know it's because all of the people with actual brains left a long, long time ago, but it's just insane to see the brain drain happen in real time. By gen 10 only the most retarded sycophants will be left enjoying the pure slop that this series has become.

>inb4 "b-b-b-but it says AT TIME OF RELEASE! t-they'll totally change it!"
Not before it completely flops with its intended audience (competitive autists) for not having everything they ever wanted day 1. Assuming they get around to adding all 1000+ Pokémon, it will be in several years so that they can drain money out of peoples' pockets with timed events first. At which point the game will already be irrelevant again due to a new generation releasing, making the older stuff that's being re-added even older and far less exciting than the garbage new slop.
Assuming they never add all 1000+ Pokémon, because they have no real reason to with how much brain damage and money they've already accrued through inventing dexcut in the first place, the game will never pick up any steam because Showdown will have it beat forever.

The only possible audience this game could have is more casual players trying to get into VGC. Which is an audience that is already covered by the mainline games, and has been since XY/Sun and Moon, far more effectively.

Okay, so, casual players trying to get into VGC who don't have the money to spend on a Switch with Scarlet/Violet or Sword/Shield.

That is an incredibly small demographic that barely exists.

This thing is going to flop, hard, and I'm very tired of complete brainlets like Wolfe Glick hyping it up to be the biggest and bestest thing ever that's going to come out and kill Showdown and have Dynamax and Z-moves and Bruxish and Hyper Training.

Spergrant over I'm just so sick of this lmao. Finally fucking cracked when someone close to me sent me a link to his tweet on the matter for the third time this week and I had the dumb idea to read all the replies to it.

EDIT: it pains me to see that the series has deteriorated to such a point that shit like this needs to be clarified

Also because his main shtick of VGC now has its own game instead of being an after thought in a game he doesn't care about (the single player portion of Pokemon)

Wolfe's a compfag he doesn't care about the dex cut. That'd be like a competitive TCG player angry that official formats don't allow every card ever made used. Generation Dexcuts in VGC is just the same thing as TCG formats.

He's excited because he's assuming "variety of different modes available for your desired experience" implies they'll let you play different previous VGC formats (a SunMoon format! A SwSh format!) In reality it'll probably just be like Scarlet / Violet's regulations. Where new regulations just ban / unban different Pokemon types like Paradoxes and the most used mons of the previous regulations.

He is still a retard because he's also hoping the game will have EV IV sliders so lol. Personally I'm excited about it cause I wanna fuck around comp with the Pokemon in my Home who all came from different games.

Does anyone here ha version 2.5.11 of ShockSlayer's Pokémon Crystal Clear? Pokéharbor has only version 2.5.10.
I don't but I'm curious why you want to play the Crystal romhack that adds niggers and troons.
