I voted for Trump three times and I'm wondering at this point about JFK, with the release of the associated files (but not Epstein's!) and his comical phrase 'Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country'... comical because what did his country do for him? Ventilated his fucking skull. That's what.
And really, thinking about it, I wonder, what has my country 'done for me'? Well, let's consider that one thing it's done for me is put me in a position, personally, where I had to vote for an orange reality T.V. star, known adulterer and who knows what else with the lead boots they've put on when it comes to releasing the Epstein files, repeatedly to keep psychopaths out of the highest office in the land.
Why is that? Why is it, I wonder, that Donald Trump is the 'best' option we have? Why is it that our choices as a nation are always some mashup between psychopaths, shylocks, lawyers, dual-citizens loyal to another country's interests, and various other compromised individuals?
Thinking on this further I wonder also at the socialism that is present in the military. Why, when it comes down to it, that socialism is given a pass when it's for the government's mercs who have only 'served' as government-approved hitmen against 'enemies' whose main crime is... standing in the way of the interests again of foreign nations, multinational corporations, extra-national organizations, and the worst people on the planet's kickbacks from Raytheon et al? Why is it not only tolerated but encouraged, this fervent, mindless jingoism and pro-war attitude, by the public that ninety years ago would've balked at the idea of kissing the ground paid killers walked on?
I also wonder how the hell it really is that all of these so-called socialists, meanwhile, can suffer to exist the rampant and obvious corruption of their supposed standard-bearers? BLM standing for Buy Large Mansions, Bernie castigating billionaires while he is mysteriously a millionaire off of a 200k a year salary. Why it never seemingly comes around to these folks that socialism, if it is to be tolerated and structured in a manner that can even begin to function, must be implemented within a society that doesn't tolerate such larcenous filth to stain the walkways of the halls of power?
Why is it, that nationalist streaks that run throughout each major wing of the poltiical zeitgeist in America never look across the aisle and look at what's really at stake - nationalism as a concept itself, against the disgusting globalist abomination that is our current 'Liberal World Order', the one that is both hyper-capitalist in its foundations and operation yet at its highest echelons socialist in its extraction of wealth en masse from the first-world's middle class? Why, and how, I've wondered, is this lost on so many people?
And I've realized that it really is because of what my country 'has done for me' that has allowed this sorry-assed state of affairs to manifest, wherein 'conservatives' will decry those who speak truth as regards the candidate most did not vote for but rather as a choice against a greater evil in the same vein that they'll mock their supposed opposition for doing with regards to people such as Kamala, Bernie, AoC, etc.
My country, if it can be so called, has instilled and fomented an entire materialist culture of illogical, overly-emotional, overly-sentimental sheep for whom independent, truly independent, thought is an unattainable goal. People for whom have instilled in them 'safety rails' not unlike those present in AI/LLMs. I've wondered for a while after hearing on a podcast recently someone mention that 'people sound like LLMs to me now' and it's clicked - it's because so many of 'our countrymen' are brain-dead. Actually controlled in their thoughts through self-censorship.
I just wanted to get this out somewhere because it's bugged me for a minute, but I think I finally have realized that what our country has done for us is no less than what it did for JFK - it blew all of our fucking collective brains all over the pavement.
