Since I am a newfag here yet I do want contribute, I'll do my best to document Wizard ties with RU-community. I will update this as soon as I get new information and per request.
Soviet Connection
Two of the most viewed posts regarding dehubbing on SS14 are directly tied with
White Dream - even Nyano, first victim of troon vengeance, did not have such traction.
White Dream also, at the time, was second largest server network, rivaling Corvax at the time, and were trying to "bring back good old SS13 days". They're also prominent on coding scene, had collaboration with Hippie Station and so on.
I will give my opinion on White Dream - they're mixed bag, they look both based and retarded at the same time to me. Quite good at causing Wizards to produce more milk and being somewhat self-aware yet colluding with EE and AGPLosers. They're also seem to be aiming and making actually good game over at WWDP. Anyways.
Anyway
Basically, ONIKS / Scituzer2 is someone from Animus Station days who somehow managed to become project manager on SS14 server - and was quite good at it. Yet, because of tendency to schizopost, jannyhate and other stuff - they've attracted strikes every month. Yet what is fascinating, is this:
Apparently, Wizards have had hateboner on ONIKS for quite some time before because they learned that ONIKS/Scituzer2 organized raids on Citadel and other proto-ERP servers in 2015. Talk about bad blood.
Anyways, fast forward to current date.
After White Dream was dehubbed, they still had stable online ranging in 100+~ players. They've also have had episodes, where they tried to slither back into Wizard Hub that coincided with ONIKS's absence:
1) February 2024, first try. Totally failed, because some player asked Wizards directly, are they letting White Dream back - and blows the whole deal open. It was revealed that Valtos (White Dream host) was talking with Wizards regarding "getting back into hub", and main requirement - getting rid of ONIKS. Guy who tried to pull this off literally vanishes without any notice.
2) April-May 2024,
Fray2 (PKS cronie) was a new project manager after first try failed and previous project manager disappeared into thin air. Immediately starts "talks" with Wizards again. Starts purging ONIKS's schizoposts on forums and in Discord, which triggers them and other oldfags. From the cursory search, it seems that community started to side with ONIKS on this, they've also revealed plot to get back into hub which pisses off players even more and for some fucking reason - ONIKS gets back into project manager position, moving Fray2 aside.
3) August 2024,
Valtos (White Dream host) finalizes their talks with Wizards regarding getting back into hub - purge everything and everyone, rename, etc. Nyanotrasen deal, basically. At the time, they've had somewhere around 100~ stable players between two servers (out of the hub, which is quite good imo) - and after the purge, online is now around 30~.
Now, this is important, because during his second "reign", ONIKS was organizing rebase to EE build - AGPL at the time and going open-source with some important SS13 mechanics and gamemode ports. When coup happened, almost every maintainer and coder moved over to the splinter server, WWDP, and continued rebase there.
This codebase split results in interesting situation, where
hailrakes, friend of Valtos, PKS member and scammer-coder, moves to Sunrise - largest server network at the time, and ports
WWDP code for cash. This results in ONIKS sperging out and going after Sunrise, DMCA'ing them - and then going after Hetzner of Wizards, for hosting DMCA'd content. This results in PJB melting down and dehubbing Einstein-Engines.
