I think the big difference with European and American food is over here you have to really think about what you put in your mouth. American food is a lot more calorically dense. Now if you actually watch what you eat then yeah you’ll lose weight, although even with meat we have hormones used in those and then fruits and vegetables are sprayed with pesticides.
