@Popper Whiting, you don’t need to waste time promising anything - We’ll find out in four to six weeks if you ever felt like exercising those skills or not. Those of us who pay attention to what Jack wants seen or believed about him already know he doubles down on delusions for comfort because he’s wasted his life lying about doing things correctly while self-destructing through doing the opposite. One of the best posts in this entire thread is a guy succinctly pointing out that Jack essentially Peter Principle’d himself into lifelong convalescence through pretending that lying about dieting or not poisoning himself was his job.
I got to admit I've watched a few of his vids since yesterday, both before the strokes and after. Whilst he was always shit at procedure (hence why he's an awful cook) I noticed that it is a lot worse post stroke. Things like fucking up the eggs, water and calcium hyddroxide twice, but in different ways.
One of the first things I'd run on him is a coffee test, usually we sneak this one in on people, we'd hold a meeting in the kitchen/cafe area of the hospital/rehab centre and ask the person to make a cup of instant coffee. It is something most people do and can do without thinking too much. You ask them how they normally make a cup of instant coffee and get them to do it. So if someone usually boils the jug, puts coffee in first, then sugar, then milk, then the water and they put in the water, then boil the jug, then coffee, sugar, milk it shows that the person has problems sequencing out tasks. As you repeat that over a couple of days, you work out whether they're doing the same thing or are they changing the order of the tasks each time. You then start looking at whether or not the person is aware of the fact they're doing this.
To most people the arm and his gait are probably the most obvious, but to me that sequencing and understanding that he has a problem with sequencing is the most dangerous and problematic thing for Jack. Things like that aren't a major hassle when you make a cup of coffee, but are down right dangerous if the person is driving, in a kitchen or dealing with poisons (as would be the case with someone who is a farmer). Now considering most of you have watched a lot more videos of Jack than I have, has this particular thing gotten worse with Jack after each stroke?
Again, this is just the thing that is the big flashing red light for me if I was treating Jack (back when I used to).
Edit: also note that whilst Jack may have always been terrible at this, the fact that he has been terrible may actually be covering up that he has had damage to that part of the brain. Being terrible at something isn't as big a problem as having brain damage in that specific area which makes you terrible.
