The case was about Karl sperging out and relentlessly and repeatedly slandering a public figure.
The public figure sent Karl proof that his claims were false, and asked him to retract.
Instead, Karl literally went on a livestream and mocked the legal form he received.
To prove that Karl's lies actually caused reputational damage to Billy, Karl's own faggot subscribers had left hundreds of thousands of comments further slandering Billy based off Karl's original lies.
Technically, it was the posted comments from Karl's own fans which really sealed the case.
He F'd around and found out.

This is an underrated post everybody needs to read.

Yes, Billy Mitchell is a fraud that cheated at Donkey Kong. However, Jobst has been milking this shit for far too long, and said things about Mitchell that he knew to be untrue to fan the flames.

Mitchell sucks, but he rightfully earned this win. He earned it a hell of a lot more than he earned his Donkey Kong scores.

Loser pays court fees is a pretty sensible policy, so long as the lawyer fees were not unreasonable. USA has a pay to play system where just going to court can ruin you financially even if you win.

Realistically, what business opportunities would Billy lose if he decides to crush Jobst like an insect for slighting him? People on youtube would seethe about it, especially of Jobst follows Apollo's example, but what difference does that actually make? It's bullshit Internet drama, and it sounds like Billy's wealth comes from IRL business. I doubt speedrun troons and actual professional businessmen have a lot of crossover.

He stated it as a fact while continuing his friendship with the people who were listed in his suicide.

Man Billy really had nothing here and still made out like a bandit. He couldn't even show that the traffic to his restaurants slowed due to some boycott over allegedly causing Apollos suicide. or some shit. There are so many financial avenues where he could show Karls defamation caused him monetary harm and he didn't even need to in Australia semen slurping court system.

I'm in awe of the king of Kong. Truly he is the protagonist here. I'm calling it early and giving Billy Video game player of the 21st century. 200 years of of Billy's kingdom and more to come.
