On a more serious note, anyone who wishes to become a better artist, I'd highly recommend the book "Drawing on the Right-Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards. I believe the whole book is available online. Specifically, its really good for helping you learn to observe things and replicate them on paper. It doesn't go into stuff like stylistic choices or color theory, but if whenever you draw, you're at a loss of how to get what's in your head or your reference on to paper, its one of the best I've seen, questionable Neuroscience of the title aside.

My concern about the contest, is anyone can easily cheat. Whether its commissioning someone else, or just finding something to steal (probably could solve with reverse image search), maybe someone has a solution I'm not thinking of.

I'd like to throw my hat in the ring. Since I'm lazy, and I don't think Alex has a snowball's chance in hell, I'm submitting a picture I did of Al from Full Metal Alchemist for my nephew about three years ago. If Alex does a better drawing than me, I'll leave the farms forever, and if he's amenable, I'll ask Jersh to nuke my account. However, if Alex wants me to follow through, he has to show pictures showing his artistic progress until next April, or whenever he submits his final picture. We have one year to improve our drawing skills using any resources at our disposal. The media in which the drawing is drawn (digital, painting, paper, etc.) doesn't matter, as long as it's the best-looking drawing. You don't have to draw the drawing on the day we have to submit it; you can draw it anytime. The drawing can be anything, but I'd prefer if it was a person (with limbs), as this is what I'm going to draw.

Keep in mind that you've been drawing since 2010. I've never drawn seriously in my life, so you'll have an advantage over me.

Great idea because I actually started a new style but want to clean it up. I made Sparkletors' pfp and don't know if I should design a fakemon, a monster hunter monster, a hybrid of both, or something else like a real animal.
