Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Its kind of incredible how tone deaf and genuinely moronic the people making this shit are. Your trying to make everyone feel "bad" for the military bombing the fuck out of FUCKING DEMONS!!!
According to this review, which absolutely skewers the show instead of shilling it, "they are natives of another universe, one that exists parallel to [Earth]." What's even sadder is that main human villain (the one in the clip with the shades) is voiced by the late Kevin Conroy.

Now the Suicide Squad game has competition for which final Kevin Conroy role is more painful to watch (:_(

Hazbin Hotel: Angels slaughter thousands of "innocent" demons.

Netflix DMC: "Hold my air strike."

I will keep repeating myself to emphasize how retarded Shankir's DMC is, but at least Hazbin Hotel had human sinner souls subject to mass slaughter which at least elicits some sympathy.

DMC MAKES THE ACTUAL FUCKING DEMONS INTO AN ALLEGORY FOR ARABS BEING INVADED BY THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION EVEN THOUGH DMC NEVER TOOK PLACE IN FUCKING AMERICA

Can someone please tell the Punjab it's not 2004 anymore? Bush hasn't been in office for 20 years and never will be in office again?

Like you can still make shows that discuss stuff that happened 20 years ago but DMC is not the IP for that.

Not to mention god I am not attached to this character but my god Lady really is an IDF Soldier who shoots innocent demon families (since the show makes demons innocent now I guess) that caused one of the demons to become the bad guy, backstabs Dante, and causes the US government to invade Hell.

If Demons were Arabs then you could call me Barack obama because im gonna drone strike the shit out of them

Some people actually need to be Current Year’d. It’s not 2004 anymore. Even if it was, what kind of messaging is this? What were they thinking? :stress:

Oh god, what if in 10+ years someone is going to make an equivalent of that with "orange man bad" :lossmanjack:millenials love to mock boomers for their outdated politics yet are quickly becoming the same as them.
Some people are really incapable of making political messages that aren't a brick to the face. Subtlety and nuance is a becoming such a lost art in the western media.

>Portrays literal demonic hell spawn as immigrant minorities
What did Adi mean by this? 🤔
"violent orks = black people" moment

Yeah its such a dumb message, like if you wanted to make a War on Terror analogy with Devil May Cry, why not make the demons initiate it and do that stuff.

It would've been a stronger message to hit the point home on how horrifying it was to people that weren't effected by it, but no Adi Shankir loves to really love "HUMANS R DA REAL MONSTERS!" since he thinks that is deep messaging when it is as sophisticated as a 14 year old boy's understanding of the world.

Like it's very heavy handed in making one of the main bad guys Not!Dick Cheney (voiced by Kevin Conroy) and have an AMV of American Idiot play over demons in turbans being bombed than having them drill for Demon Oil

There’s already plenty of “Orange Man Bad” now, so it wouldn’t surprise me to see more in 2046. That is, if these media last that long. For all their talk about “media literacy,” this lack of nuance isn’t helping Western media. Not one bit, especially when you fuck up your storytelling this badly.

It’s absurd. I bet, if Western animation is still around 20 years from now, we’ll get a This Is America AMV over evil angel cops beating up innocent, peaceful demon protesters. These people will never grow up. Time warp motherfuckers.

Only if Adi Shankir wants to, but don't worry he'll get to Resident Evil and Berserk first!
Of course, gotta retcon the Umbrella corporation as the good guys. The T-virus came from a Chinese wet market, and Umbrella made a vaccine, but President Graham (who looks and acts like Trump now) spread anti-vax disinformation which caused the zombie outbreak!

So, in a couple years are we going to see an XCOM series on Netflix that attempts to paint the aliens as refugees who are simply fighting back against an oppressive and bigoted humanity?
That would probably go better because people want to fuck the Vipers and also they can just say The Elders are the only evil ones and the rest are just unwilling slaved races if they wanted to go that route.

Always the same thing. We need WWIII to start ASAP so that these morons can be sent to the front lines.

They have been doing this from 2016 to nowadays, non-stop. It was particularly aggravating back then, when EVERY American work had jabs agaisnt DRUMPF and/or Musk. Non-stop.

So, in a couple years are we going to see an XCOM series on Netflix that attempts to paint the aliens as refugees who are simply fighting back against an oppressive and bigoted humanity?
Didn't the Chimera Squad had that, kind of, with terrorists that were mad about the aliens that peacefully integrated with humanity after decades of literal occupation and turning people into monsters (or food)?

I mean least painful is crisis on infinite earths where he reprised DCAU Batman one last time.

But between these two where he seemed to want to go in a villain voicing direction, I'd give it to Suicide Squad being more painful since he is treated as a joke, gets lectured and traumadumped by Harley, and unceremoniously killed off but it's revealed to be a clone as the game dies for good.

This VP character is just Kevin Conroy playing some new OC character for a bad adaptation of a video game.

It's like you're playing Cult of Sirius in XCOM Apocalypse.
