No that's MTGLion, a Magic the Gathering/Pokemon nerd who made a bunch of money with a card shop and crypto. Now he supposedly has an "AI company." He's also a patent/trademark attorney so take his "legal expertise" with a grain of salt. If he were bigger he would definitely have a thread here. He didn't met the criteria he himself put into place, and he's been caught red handed, and he's been caught trying to do some gay ops with the tapes, and he's been blatantly lying about cheating, and he's been obnoxious about it so much everyone wanted to put him in his place.

If he cheated once then it puts all his other records into question. Cheating in speedrunning is incredibly easy due to how precise some tricks have to be so nudging them a bit using, say, emulation tools is hard to catch. Speedrunners being autistic put a lot of value on honesty and integrity (if we're being charitable) and care a lot about shit nobody cares about (if we're being cynical). There's also still the spirit of "doing it for the art" so a douchebag who made a whole career and millions of bucks of having the first perfect Fuck Man score or whatever that he probably faked is particularly ass-chapping.

Add to that Twin Galaxies who Billy was de facto owner of and whose alumni were pedophiles or cheaters so blatant, they'd just submit impossible scores that'd get approved by the virtue of being friends with the owner, and who also "approved" Billy's scores which begs the question of how many, if any, have any merit to them.

He fosters animals and he'll never sell out on his youtube channel that gets 100 views a video? One of his businesses focusing on pokemon and mtg specifically is probably because he figured it's popular enough to get him some more attention. No Donkey Kong cabinet running an original boardset will show something like MAME. It's a fundamental difference between how MAME refreshes frames compared to an original board set/monitor. Billy and his entourage spent tons of effort trying to get an original machine to show something like MAME and never could. Also conveniently all of Billy's tapes didn't have audio which would be a dead give away for MAME since DK's sound effects originally were generated via dedicated hardware and in MAME are sampled, meaning they sound obviously different.

Regarding his live performances after the high score tapes he submitted, Billy has done playthroughs where he's gotten over a million points and scores that were close to the ones he submitted. However, it should be noted that by the time he did that Donkey Kong high score competition got more interest in it, new techniques were developed, competition got tougher, so getting a million points isn't even that impressive now. The scores that Billy has been able to get aren't even in the top twenty and that's putting aside the fact that just because Billy is good at the game doesn't mean he didn't cheat. Why did he cheat? Most likely just because he wasn't able to get scores at the rate that he wanted to defend his title and since he had TG in his back pocket knew he could get away with it till people figured out the MAME signatures.

For older scores, I don't think anyone seriously disputes his original 80's DK scores but there has been some dispute if Billy was actually the first person to get a perfect game of Pacman or if TG ignored other people in favor of Billy.

He's a typical better-than-you Asian know it all. I started watching his stuff when a card game scam that Rudy was neck deep in named Metazoo fell apart. He put out three videos per day about it for months. Around that time he got his very first girlfriend and made a point of mentioning "Hey guys I got a girrrfriend! You guys got girrrfriend? No? I do!" every stream. It was hilariously sad. Then he got her pregnant! So there's a little one running around somehow. At some point she convinced him to open another card store and I'm not sure if that ever happened. He also did a series at war with Rudy where he bought the S&P 500 and tracked it against Rudy's MTG buy recommendations. Three videos per day about that. His Lus channel was originally started to talk about fraud in the high-end watch market (or at least that's what it turned into). There was one big story of a watch seller scamming people and he drew an audience covering that with three videos every days for months. I got sucked in for the Rudy vs. MTGLion retard fight and that got boring and forgot all about him until a page ago.

My guess is that Karl found out about him by way of somebody bringing it to his attention in the Discord. This guy is a nobody in terms of views and recognition compared to others, as I only found the video by accident and wanted some longform background noise, and even then, you'd think it'd have a lot more views on it given that this is a really hot topic right now. But, can't crack 5K views on this topic when it's hot. Although, Billy Mitchell himself was in his chat for a little while, so he has that going for him at least.

I don't think Karl went out of his way to find this guy. Given that he's too scared to even watch the judgement video himself, he probably doesn't look up other videos of people talking about this, and lets other people in his Discord point them out for him, but that's just my guess.

It's hard to blame anyone but Karl for this. If you shop around enough and keep ignoring lawyers who tell you you don't have a case and that your theory of the case is incorrect, you can ultimately find a law firm that will play along with you and charge you massive amounts in billable hours to lose.
