Michael King threw a 2-hit complete game shutout in Coors and the 2nd best nickname in the MLB (my first is still The Cuban Missile), Grandson of the Wind, just lit up Rodon for 2 HRs and 4 RBIs in a win against the pinstripes.

I hope the snakes heat up to make this a 4-team race:

If other divisions are gonna be weak, let this one be an absolute bloodbath with a game 163, amen.

I'm sure I've already sperged about it in the thread, but I really hate that little pale bespectacled faggot.

He really did Trevor Bauer dirty in the last piece of his content I ever consumed.
It's amusing and telling that they were quick to dog pile on Bauer while ignoring Aroldis Chapman (choked out his GF and threatened her with a gun), and martyr Jose Fernandez despite the fact that he was the one that got himself and two other people killed.

He’s a “fucking white male”. What did you expect ? We’re public enemy number 1 in all things.

The Rangers offense couldn't get hits off a 12 year old kid throwing wiffle balls and I am tearing my hair out watching the pitchers put up 6 inning quality starts with only a couple runs given up, only for the bats to put up nothing.

Bauer's blacklisted from the MLB because he exposed all the rampant cheating going on and Manfred didn't like that. The accusations were just a smokescreen, and also false. The "locker room cancer" stories were also false. The fact that he's FUCKING A WHITE MALE makes it easier for MLB to make the fans believe that the reason he's out of the league is because he's an rapist and not because he embarrassed Manfred.

Looks like the Cubs are a fun team to watch this season. They have Shota Imanaga, hit consistently, and churn out offensive slugfests against playoff teams quite consistently
Cubs had the hardest schedule in baseball to start the season, pretty much only playing the NL West, and after this next Phillies series have the easiest schedule. PCA is on pace for a 10 WAR season through 26 games and shaping up to be a bona fide superstar if he can keep it up. Which I optimistically believe he can.

Not fully related to this thread but the guys of City-Journal did an article about the Cubs.

“In this world there are only two tragedies,” says Mr. Dumby, a character in Oscar Wilde’s play Lady Windemere’s Fan. “One is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it. The last is much the worst, the last is a real tragedy!”

In 2016, Chicago Cubs fans got what they wanted: their team won the World Series for the first time since 1908, breaking the longest spell cast over any organization in North American professional sports. Those who lived to see the fulfillment of hopes that their fathers and grandfathers had taken to the grave exulted. Two days after the Series concluded, 5 million people turned out for a parade that started at Wrigley Field, the Cubs’ home since 1916, and ended with a rally in Grant Park. According to The Plan (2017), by Chicago sports journalist David Kaplan, it was the seventh-largest gathering of human beings in history. “Let’s hope that it’s not another 108 years,” Cubs manager Joe Maddon told the crowd. “Let’s see if we can repeat this and come back next year.”
Let's see if the White Sox will win another World Series championship before the Cubs. :story:
