And it's not even that unfair. Until I dug deeper, I initially thought Apollo had taken his own life because of Billy's lawsuit. At that time, the only information I had about this incident came from Karl, and as far as I know, no one more popular with a larger subscriber base had covered it. So it's safe to assume his videos significantly influenced public perception. These comments stem from his abhorrent implications.

By the way, if Billy's lawyers are reading this, feel free to screenshot it. I am stating the truth and nothing but the truth. I was misled by Karl's words, and I am annoyed that he claimed I misunderstood when he clearly used weasel words to suggest Billy committed murder

It's pretty reasonable to assume he was running up his own legal costs to punish Billy. There's quotes from him gloating about the fact you have to pay the winning party's legal fees in Australia.

I just noticed that Billy could have totally fucked Apollo legend, but let him off the hook. If anything, this would have been to apollos benefit. I think what the judge wrote about Billys and Karls characters is probably fair. Up until now billy would have probably let Karl go with a slap on the wrist... what unchecked ego does to a motherfucker.

It's not really though, not only did Billy apparently prove he did lose opportunities from this, they pulled up hundreds (and the real number is obviously multi-thousands) of people spreading out all over youtube and the internet talking about how Billy totally murdered this kid. You then have dozens of videos of Karl talking about blowing up legal fees and getting super expensive lawyers to stick billy with the bill, calling the judge an unreasonable idiot, making 90 videos during the trial crying about joysticks, being an insufferable faggot. There's also a huge difference between "this guy as a reputation for lying about videogames" and "this guy bullied some cancer ridden depressed virgin kid into killing himself" when it comes to damages

And then a video just put out where he says he did nothing wrong, Billy forced him to do it, the judge is stupid. This is a decade+ long campaign to try and ruin Billy lol not one random comment. He went from "lawyers are amazing especially really good ones like mine, not stupid idiots like Billy's. Thank god for fair judges like this". To "all lawyers are retarded they won't listen to me or let me speak and this judge is a biased asshole". Billys lawyer also originally said he'd settle for Karl deleting the video and giving him 150k, which is a pretty fucking good bargain after the million he's now out.

That 400k is fine for his retarded ego if he would have just stfu and not spent years bragging about how bad he's going to fuck Billy and what a king he is, it probably wouldn't have been so harsh.

too late to walk it back now. Karl had once chance to save his reputation and his career, instead he releases yet another video claiming "I won actually. By a lot. I won bigly and the corrupt judge will be sorry. Also remember to use my raid shadows legend code and buy this shaver for your balls you absolute FUARKING LEGENDS". I expect a slow decline until his appeal fails, he is made bankrupt and dies on the streets of Brisbane alone

I still dont like mitchell. But still doesnt justify what jobst did. Also, cant forget about the retraction being a small acknowledgement inside a long video that is entirely unrelated.

Jobst really was trying to character assassinate mitchell (further) rather than not being a petulent asshole.

I wouldn't have settled for that amount, but there's a lot Karl could have done to shore up his defense. Maybe the case wouldn't have even been worth pursuing if he apologized to Billy and set the record straight with a proper retraction video. It would have at least saved his ass in court. Instead he did absolutely nothing to mitigate the damage over a span of years.

I used to like Karl.
I didn't really care about the Billy stuff but I really enjoyed his deep dives on some of the stuff like the analysis of the retro market scam. I did not expect him to lie like this and the fact that he is doubling down is insane.
I briefly considered keeping the subscription on YouTube in order to watch some other non-Billy related stuff in the future but now that it is clear that he has no problem lying to his audience I realized I'd probably be subjecting myself to the Gell-Mann amnesia effect. I am not a fan of Billy but he 100% is right in this case and it's good that the justice has been served and I can no longer give Karl any benefit of the doubt.
