The Elder Scrolls

This game looks like complete dogshit.
You gotta be a total goyslop consoomer with the critical reasoning of an amoeba if you play, let alone defend that.
I think this game is a masterpiece of performance art and everyone should buy it, along with a copy of Skyrim Anniversary Edition and Starfield, just to pay respects to the master Himself.

As I was creating a character, I thought it was a neat addition that they added 'origins' to your race, basically you pick what specific city/region your race is from, and they affect your stats slightly.

Then I saw every race only had two and quickly realized they were just a replacement for the fact your sex had an effect on your stats in the original.

It's a... creative way to get around not including something from the original if nothing else.

I do think people will buy both

They'll buy this for the visuals and the updated content like fleshed out voices and cool animation things like the emperors fucking brutal execution stuff like that.

And they'll buy skyblivion because inevitably skyblivion itself will be modded to work like tale of two wastelands where you can do oblivion, have some way for time to pass (an elder scroll, becoming sheogorath and just...waiting..., etc), to do skyrims story, and of course Skyrim exclusive mods like animations, textures and titty mods.

(Yes I know you don't buy skyblivion but to use it you got to have oblivion original so might aswell just say buy it)

think the devs bought the memes way too much. There is no way the characters should look, act and move this weirdly
Yeah "preserving the weirdness" was a bad call. The unintentional comedy angle of Oblivion is vastly overstated in regards to its charm. I'd have traded all of that for better overall visuals and behaviors.
Also makes you respect realize how dog shit obsidian is
Yeah, my gf kept remarking on how much this looked like Avowed and I was quick to point out that it does, but this easily beats that because I can do all of the shit in this that Avowed didn't allow because it's a no-fun retard game made by troons and women.

Considering what me and @00R-Gundam have gone through, you'd be surprised how many people still can't comprehend modding. In fact as people get more dumb it won't matter how easy and streamlined something is, even if it's as simple as Wabbajack or collections where it installs for you. I've seen decade old concerns (muh complexity, muh virus) that are easily dismissed or resolved with a simple Googlefu being brought up again and again. It's not just people don't learn, they refuse to learn.
Fear of the unknown is one thing, fear to understand the unknown goes against human nature itself. So yes, quite literally subhuman.
"Mods will fix it/make it good!" is cope.

If a game can't stand on its own two feet, it sucks. I expect the devs to make a game right the first time, and I expect everything to be serviceable out of the box.

I'm not gonna learn how to mod the game because I'm not a fucking programmer and making the game playable is not my job.

Having the modding community fix the devs' half-assed work for free just continues the enshittification cycle. PC gaming Master Race? More like PC Gaming slave class.

they definitely tweaked damage values. I started a short OG oblivion playthrough and I was taking more damage and dealing less then I am in the remake

Emerging consensus seems to be that performance is very bad on everything except bleeding-edge hardware. I was excited to play this, but now I'm going to wait for a patch that addresses it.

Hoping for something around 60 FPS @ 1440p ultrawide with my i9-10900K / 3080, but that doesn't seem likely from what I'm reading.
Yes, performance is shit tier. I have a R7 3700x with 16GB of RAM and a 4070 TI Super and all I could get was 45fps outside at 1080p. No matter what settings I used that seemed to be the case. When I went to medium and low I got slightly over 60fps. This is ridiculous for a game like this at 1080p. 1080p is pretty much the standard now and getting a steady 60 fps at that resolution should be easy and expected. It really doesn't even look all that great.

It's because of UE5 all UE5 games tend to run like shit and look like garbage. They rely on DLSS and frame gen a lot. I doubt there will ever be a patch to address it because these are just problems associated with UE5. UE5 is a garbage tier engine and it's made for consoles. You aren't supposed to run games over 30 fps with it apparently. It definitely doesn't seem to do steady frame rates either. Forget a steady 60 fps or whatever.

I played an hour till I got outside in the open world and saw the performance tried some settings then filed for a refund. You can push through poor optimization with powerful hardware. But you shouldn't have to do that.
