the scene wasn't too bad, the music that played over it was a little much though.

I don't often agree with Star Wars Theory, but his argument is correct; rape should be implied in Star Wars and not softcore shown. The first ten seconds are fine. After that is when it gets gratuitous.

Is Kevin Nash going to have a guest star appearance in this show now?

what the fuck. YOU DO NOT HATE DISNEY ENOUGH.

Fucking actual illegal alien in the space opera show. On disney plus, streaming, next to the brown island dweller moana 2.

It’s so like instead of trying to be white like they did for most of the 90s it’s just going full mask-off judaism. Thanks (((iger))), hell of a job.

If do you have any friends or family or coworkers that are unfortunate enough to be addicted to this slop, PLEASE introduce them to ways to pirate it!
TBH, that is in-character for the Empire. Especially since there is a rebellion against them going on, and illegals could easily be fugitive rebels in disguise, so the Empire actually has a legit reason to suspect things and to check every worker to make sure everyone's legit.

I'm convinced many of them are adult fans who grew out of the franchise but don't realize this. That's why the obsession with making SW dark and gritty, and why they are so impressed by Andor, they've never seen adult TV before. They act like the show invented "prestige TV". The fandom has way too many people in it who clearly haven't enjoyed any Star Wars content since they were 10 and need to move on. The endless circle jerking about how the jedi and sith suck and "nobody wants more of that" is so tedious.
Star wars has been and always will be a kids franchise. Fuck, they were one of the first properties to really go all-out on merchandise.

Especially given during this time, Thrawn is in a position of power, Thrawn is meticulous like this.

Whatever you may think of the scene itself, that headline is doing Disney zero favors and I bet Tony Gilroy received several enraged calls from Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy today…
That was my biggest takeaway, yeah.

Like even if you believe that, why the fuck would you say it in an interview?

The fuck is an undocumented immigrant in star wars, they blast around in space ships and rarely even bother with clearance. Were the Star Wars about immigration this whole time?

It just was organic and it felt right
Gross Gilroy, gross.

I don't blame X'ers for the world the boomers made. Boomers won't give up the reins even while screaming and shitting their pants.

I want a Burt Gummer Star wars movie where he just flies around an an over armored killdozer styled shitbox shuttle with one down facing turbolaser battery.
All he does is fly from planet to planet blasting Sarlaac pits.

That's it. That's the show. Maybe he complains about his bitch ex-wife for funsies.

There's a youtuber I watch named Crimson Rogue who reviews shitty books from time to time. He likes to sprinkle in writing tips and one of them was "If you can avoid writing about rape, don't write about rape."
As we saw in the Critical Drinker panel, it draws all the attention to the rape and everyone is grossed out and annoyed afterwards. And I will admit, it does feel like shock jock writing to stir up controversy.

Now that I think about it, I hope KK and Bobby were pleased. In fact, I hope they give Tony his own movie series! It’ll be great evidence that Disney was discriminating against Gina Carano and her beliefs/ ,comments, and she can rape ‘em even harder (in a court of law!) for lost wages!

Gets people to talk about the show, the only other alternative is that he wasn't PR trained, which I frankly don't believe. Is not like the show is being made in secret in a basement somewhere, find it impossible to believe no one picked up a phone and called the higher-ups to say "Uhhhh, Mr. Disney, we're about to show on screen rape, that ok?".

I mean it's a good indicator of how dead it is if that's what they have to do to get people to look its way.

I wish someone at that building tricks them into thinking "that was a great move but we haven't gone far enough yet!".

I'm not a prude by any means but introducing rape of all things into a series that never went beyond a kiss is very ill-fitting.
Now that we know space rape exists we all know that Jabba was doing with the Princess when she was chained up in that Bikini. Thanks Disney.

Also why doesn't Kylo Wren use the force to just finger Rey's pussy? Is he stupid?

It's depressing to think that A New Hope could convey the concept of "Empire Bad and Oppresive" in thirty seconds, without a single word*, right at the fucking start with the power of visual narrative, music, framing and assorted plastic bits glued together, but in 2025 we need two entire fucking seasons of a TV show and attempted rape to do the same. Poorly.
I know there's an ideological motivation behind it to link it to current politics, but what's the point? This is the safe-edgy equivalent of Captain Planet's subtlety. "Media literacy" my ass.

*excluding the introductory text crawl, but you know what I mean.

I mean there have been plenty of Fanfiction Horrors thread worthy stories about Leia and Jabba
