SUV hits crowd at Lapu Lapu Day Block Party in Vancouver, BC
An SUV has been driven into a crowd of people at the Lapu Lapu Day Block Party in Vancouver, B.C., according to witnesses, causing an unknown number of casualties.The incident happened at around 8 p.m. on Saturday when the vehicle plowed into people attending the event, which is an annual celebration honoring the Philippines’ first national hero.
Footage from the scene showed multiple victims on the ground, some of whom appeared dead or seriously injured. The exact number of casualties was not immediately clear.
A large number of emergency services are at the scene. It’s unclear whether the crash was an accident or intentional. Police did not immediately respond to a request for information.

The Lapu Lapu festival was taking place in the area of E 43rd Avenue and Fraser Street.
About 30 police cars, fire trucks, ambulances have gone by on West 41st heading east in the last 10 minutes. Anyone know what’s going on? Seems big. They’re continuing to pass every 2 minutes or so.

My brother witnessed the scene unfold. He hasn't returned home yet, but called saying he phoned the police after witnessing people get run over, he said he saw people flying over top the car. I hope he is okay
