SUV hits crowd at Lapu Lapu Day Block Party in Vancouver, BC​

An SUV has been driven into a crowd of people at the Lapu Lapu Day Block Party in Vancouver, B.C., according to witnesses, causing an unknown number of casualties.

The incident happened at around 8 p.m. on Saturday when the vehicle plowed into people attending the event, which is an annual celebration honoring the Philippines’ first national hero.

Footage from the scene showed multiple victims on the ground, some of whom appeared dead or seriously injured. The exact number of casualties was not immediately clear.

A large number of emergency services are at the scene. It’s unclear whether the crash was an accident or intentional. Police did not immediately respond to a request for information.

The Lapu Lapu festival was taking place in the area of E 43rd Avenue and Fraser Street.


About 30 police cars, fire trucks, ambulances have gone by on West 41st heading east in the last 10 minutes. Anyone know what’s going on? Seems big. They’re continuing to pass every 2 minutes or so.

My brother witnessed the scene unfold. He hasn't returned home yet, but called saying he phoned the police after witnessing people get run over, he said he saw people flying over top the car. I hope he is okay

Not to be a skitzo but the Canadian Federal election is pretty soon. Probably not related but I'm pretty sure Filipinos generally lean more to traditionalist/Catholic/Conservative side of things.
Honestly most events I have been to in the Vancouver have pretty shit security or safety precautions and some massive brawls have taken place a few times before (usually Indians or "youths"). During some nigger rap concert in Vancouver a few years a riot/brawl got started because some nigger didn't show up to perform and the concert venue got destroyed and looted. Shit like this and crowds of Indians are reasons I don't go out in public anymore.

Canada has a a thing where you can commit multiple crimes and they will let go. It's much like the British system. The VPD had a thing where native Indians wouldn't get put in handcuffs because its raycist to arrest minorities that commit crimes. The justice system literally just let a Indian truck driver that killed a local church pastor go free.
Also the RCMP are the most useless fucks at doing anything law enforcement related that it almost seems malicious. (And then you realize that they are a federal force so its probably a bit of both)

Very rarely does Vancouver have proper security and it's usually for some important foreigner who brought his own correct security with him. The level of absolute bullshit going on in minority communities, that no one pays any attention to, is kind of shocking. But it's usually not Filipinos and it's usually in the suburbs, not in Vancouver proper. This was in hipster/crazy expensive Vancouver (43rd and Fraser was working class 20 years ago but now it's insanely expensive.)

Yeah Vancouver has their own police force but that doesn't make them much better than the RCMP. Just look at how shit Vancouver is today. I find it funny that there are several gang wars going on with the chinese gangs fighting about drugs and the Indians having a whole religious war going on but police in BC don't care because it doesn't involve the Hells angels or the Bacon bros(white people gangs)

I mean they're better than the RCMP.

Most of the Indian drama takes place outside of the VPD jurisdiction. A lot of the Hell's Angels stuff does too, but the Hell's Angels do have some hangouts and occasionally shoot someone within the boundaries of the city.

Most of Vancouver being shit is because Vancouver is led by morons, BC is governed by morons, and most of the people in BC are morons and this is how they want it. Not the VPD being particularly incompetent. No one goes to jail and the province hands out drugs; There's only so much the VPD can do.
