SUV hits crowd at Lapu Lapu Day Block Party in Vancouver, BC​

An SUV has been driven into a crowd of people at the Lapu Lapu Day Block Party in Vancouver, B.C., according to witnesses, causing an unknown number of casualties.

The incident happened at around 8 p.m. on Saturday when the vehicle plowed into people attending the event, which is an annual celebration honoring the Philippines’ first national hero.

Footage from the scene showed multiple victims on the ground, some of whom appeared dead or seriously injured. The exact number of casualties was not immediately clear.

A large number of emergency services are at the scene. It’s unclear whether the crash was an accident or intentional. Police did not immediately respond to a request for information.

The Lapu Lapu festival was taking place in the area of E 43rd Avenue and Fraser Street.

Listening to news coverage and they have an eyewitness on:
-says they raised the barrier for the SUV thinking it was for a vendor cleaning up
-he entered slowly, began to pick up speed, sideswiped one person, then floored it into the crowd
-people were sent flying from impact
-says private security stood around after it began not knowing what to do
-no police were present to provide security, which is odd as it is fairly standard practice for street festivals

Vancouver Police is saying it was not "terrorism".
With him being "known in certain circumstances" and fucking saying "sorry" after being captured it might be profound retardation.
